V, if you have no health issues or overcharges, and it is a convenience with no problems, that is great and of course you would not want it changed back to analog. Others have not been as fortunate who have these new meters.

Not all folks with them installed have such a good result.  Too many have serious life theatening problems.  Some models are worse than others.  Those that send out pulsed beam microwaves at over the European limits and those that are faulty and can cause housefires can pose a significant risk.  Certainly these devices should all be UL rated but they are not. Some can stop pacemakers from working properly if one's bed is too close and some can disrupt the operation of appliances like CPAP units too.  Some have migraine headaches and other physical symptoms from too much pulse beam microwave exposure. Folks who have these problems certaily have a reason to be upset and want these devices removed, especially those who had them installed without their permission.

This controversy is growing by the day and the electric utilities are carrying huge liabilities.  It will be interesting to see what happens. It will not go away quickly or easily.  Just wait and see.
