It's a real shame the way the GOP has treated Ron Paul. The man has given so many years to this country, and they just sh*t on him every chance they get. In the end, the horrible treatment of him and his supporters is only going to hurt Romney.

From a gamesmanship point of view I don't think it does. No good american switches from paul support to rawmoney, so nothing to lose in crushing him and his pesky supporters.... finally. Once and for all booting them from sudo republicanism, for sure they didnt build that! Eventually it could backfire those stinkin freedom people could finally learn that the system is corrupt top to bottom and they should not be playing with the enemy.
No matter what rawmoney or Obomb.our.nation, it looks like Goldman Saks is going to be re-elected.

I could use about 1 million crickets right now - set em' free for the war mongering teleprompter circle jerks down on the floor. Crickets would sound nice up here in the dark and creepy nose bleed seats. Wonder why they put us up here tonight. LOL

Unbelievable they read "the ayes have it" from the teleprompter! Now if they criticize Obama for reading from a teleprompter, he could have a great comeback! YAY we all ended our night without any arrests !! lol Now that that's al l over today We're spending the day going to the Museum and Aquarium and my son wants to see the the big cat rescue. We need to be back home by the 4th for school - and I'm bringing a 12 pack of Isaac with me. FYI HaHa

Your son and you will love the aquarium, it is pretty cool. Also remember to shuffle your feet if you go in the Gulf to get the stingrays out of your way. He needs to get a snorkel and mask and just float to see all the amazing fish and such in the water. have fun you two.......

Hello, S.S., Medicare, etc. are entitlements. If you received back only what you paid in, they would be accounts. That's why so many people are afraid of privatizing. I have heard something about streamlining the GI Bill, not eliminating it. What legislation that would end it are you referring to?
Mindhunt, I am not afraid of voter restrictions. Unless you have information to the contrary, I have heard that most of the fraud involved invalid democratic votes, and that has been proven locally. What information do you have that veterans can't get voter ids? It is my opinion that as hard as it may be to get the necessary voter registration, it was a heck of a lot harder for our military to leave their families and fight for our right to conduct legal elections. If someone can't get the necessary documents to their local election board within the one year between elections, we don't have to give them the benefit of the doubt. I can't argue about who wins if they are elected by living citizens voting only once, even if not everyone who was otherwise eligible made it to the booth. So many people are turned off by the campaigns that they won't bother to vote anyway.
I am confused about the Ron Paul supporters. Their candidate got more votes/delegates than they were credited with, but not enough to win the nomination under either set of rules, right? Why is binding delegates to candidates proportionally to the popular primary vote not fair? I've heard there will be a major write in campaign for candidate Paul which will probably result in Obama's re-election. That sounds counterproductive because Paul doesn't want the President re-elected and even Rand endorsed Romney a long time ago. The Republican establishment acted high-handedly, no surprise. They thought giving Paul slightly more air time than the former candidates would compensate. It didn't. Is that enough reason to cut off your noses?

Michao, I just love your condenscending attitude. Can't you ever express your opinion without taking a jab at someone else?
by beetree on 30 August 2012 - 15:08
Micaho, I surely think you are confused.
Interestingly enough, I remember a conversation, not sure how it started or ended but here goes: The elderly multi-millionaire owner of a manufacturing business, whose fortune was made during the era of glorious profit-sharing and pensions for their employees, made a comment about a bureaucratic issue in which his SS was caught up in, he was upset he wasn't getting his check.
I wondered, why would he care? And the answer was, because he had been paying into the SS system for decades and he was entitiled to HIS benefits. That money is invested and grows the account, too. As it is, and as it stands, there is the belief the Govt. has our best interests in mind, and we believe the Govt. guarantees better than what the private sector would do. Too many crooks these days in the private sector leads to utter lack of confidence. And if the stock market profits aren't based on that "emotion" then people also don't understand how day traders are the scourge of Wall Street.
Now perhaps if there was an option for citizens who don't need their SS payments to live, they could opt to return their benefits into the system to benefit the less fortunate? Who knows, because I do believe SS is set up like a ponzi scheme and the lack of a working, always increasing population is the only way to sustain SS.
It has been drilled into my head there will be nothing left by the time I can start drawing from my SS benefits that were paid into over a lifetime. Fortunately for me, I am able to plan for a retirement future without it. Privately.

It will be there, they will never stop deducting it from our pay checks. How it will be administered is the big concern for me. No one can live on SS, smart to plan ahead with a private source.
