Thanks Animules, jdh and Brandoggy... I do give my dog Glusamine/MSM from costco 2x a day after each feeding. He seems doing well on it. I still take him for a short walk at the park which is a quarter mile from my house. But i miss the part when we use to hike trails (easy to moderate trails) every weekend. I ask my vet adequan and he suggested to try rimadyl first and see the progress. Half a tab once a day and he already started chasing my female dog again. My little boy seems to be doing good with Innova adult, dark color stool and slightly firm. Right now we are 50/50 mix with the old dog food. Aloha Oe' Duke

Duke, Be careful with Rimadyl, and be sure to check www.srdogs.com/pages/rimadylfr.html. They list some cautions under "warnings from a vet" . It is especially important for an older dog whose organs and ability to heal might be slightly impaired. Best wishes, Jonah
