If they give a result of dysplastic on the same side, you might be correct in thinking that. You could just get her x-rayed now, if you're worried.
But, with 3 GSDs, I wait & watch the occassional limp, bump, & scratch; & go to the vet for more serious issues, like vomiting or diarrhea. If a bump or limp doesn't go away in 3 days, or the dog is obviously uncomfortable--no matter how long; that's a trip to the vets. Think of your dog like you would your child, you'd hardly go to the pediatrician for every scrape or twisted ankle, but when something doesn't resolve with rest, or the dog is distressed....then you need to get it seen by a professional.
****Some things ARE urgent, a leg that they hold up & won't touch the floor with at all, a leg that just drags, sudden swelling with warmth & or redness, straining to vomit or poop with nothing coming out...these are true emergencies, that warrant a speedy trip to an emergency vet, even on a weekend or at night.
Hope that helps!

However, I hope that this is just a 'fluke injury' that will resolve by itself. My pups always seemed to hurt themselves and limp around for couple of days.

If money is a problem, try resting her for a week or so and see if it improves. If it's just a strain it should improve with rest. She may need some anti-inflammatory medication as well. My friend's dog just strained her ACL (knee ligament). She needs to keep her dog quiet and in the house for three weeks. The dog can only be taken out on a short leash and just to potty. THe dog is not happy about it, but she is already improving after a week. If your dog doesn't show any improvement after a week or two of rest then you should definitely take her to the vet for x-rays. Good luck.
