I can understand why Cat Hartis Bohemia was a top producer for the year, his work ability is incredible. Ota Meloun's motto is that his dog's have to be good in every respect, from sport, showing and working and I think that what Hartis Bohemia produces is testamony to that. UTILITY IS EVERYTHING and they haven't forgotten or dimissed it for the sake of aesthetics. Czech, Slavak and DDR lines are loved because they are complete dogs that not only look good, but work and have solid nerves, same thing they have over there. Here are some videos of their "showlines"; http://youtu.be/D9a2vGMl7pM and http://youtu.be/4dZbiJWDzx4.

I have maintained in the past, that the SL dogs from the Eastern Bloc nations,(Slovak, Czech, and Hungary) still demonstrate strong working ability in general, because they still breed for performance as a priority. I remember thr SL female that T Floyd placed in top 20 in nationals with....I think she was a Hungarian SL. I respect their breeding mentality that's why I started mixing Czech with West over 15 years ago.
