1. do 2-3 tracks and do them longer (50 paces is not enough) in one day.
2. change terrain and difficulty of the track
3. introduce articles earlier in tracking to slow them down.
4. do longer tracks that are very different in lay-out, placement of food and articles.
5. age your tracks and even track in hotter, rainy or WINDY, gusty weather. Nastier, better.
6. have cross tracks to teach the dog to follow only desired scent
7. use harded surface, not freshly turned dirt and so on (alfalfa, dirt fields that had not been turned for a while, meadows that had not been mowed)
8. or used frequently mowed lawns those are hard too.
These are ideas that I just kinda thought about. Pick and choose. I can't suggest anything specific as I have not seen your dog track.
I have put FHs on dogs, Some SPS and some TRs on dogs so I think I have little experience in the field. I am no point tracking guru but so far the tracks I failed are the ones I did not prepare my dogs for... so shame on me..LOL
Good luck
