Thanks, she's my sweetie, I just want her comfortable. The lymph nodes are above that ankle mass, I'm still a little unsettled about that. I'll be glad when they're out & I have a complete pathology report to read. No fear like that of the unknown! jackie harris

Kalibeck

Well, here's the update. Kali's on antibiotics for the skin lesions, but she has 3 new masses, & the old ones have more than doubled. There is no boney involvement at this time. Once we get the skin lesions looking better, we'll decide on whether or not we do a surgical biopsy. The vets first words on seeing Kali were, "Oh my God, look at how this has spread! This is certainly some form of malignancy. Look, her preclaviclar lymph nodes are now involved," (she palpated Kali's newest mass), "this thing is HUGE." Then Kali politely took an Altoid from her & crunched it up, & then nuzzled her for another one. My poor silly peppermint loving girl. The vet's not sure if it's even worth biopsing these masses, she & I do think alike about this. We agree we want to keep Kali comfortable. I do not believe in radical surgeries & treatments that may prolong her life at the expense of her comfort. And I'm grateful that my vet & my breeder both support me on this. Kali is too precious a girl to torture her for a couple of months, or a year. To me, that's just selfish, & I wouldn't do it if I had all the money in the world. I just don't think it's right to inflict that on an animal that you can't offer an explanation to for their suffering. Man, it's been a crappy week. jackie harris
