EduCainine, ohhhhh your gonna make me cry, I give this dog little to no attention as it is right now, But I still love my dogs, all of my dogs, I'm gonna have the trainer come help us, I know I probably am an enabler and I know that's my bad bad bad, slap me for that one, But I think too hubby needs to change his approach from "challenge" to passive. Ohh I am so confused right now, But again Thank You all your so very very wonderful for offering your advice to this situation Thank You again. I'll be keeping you all posted. :-) Thanks friends

Ignoring him really is great advice, EchoMeadows, it's part of Tough Love, NILIF. I know it's hard to do and every time you look at him he's going to be looking back with a very hang dog expression, pardon the pun. I'd even take it a step farther and say when you come home from being away from him, do not even acknowledge his presence for at least half an hour. Dogs just hate to be ignored LOL. Good luck with the trainer. Actually I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person here who lives with an imperfect dog. Blitz would probably be residing in the big kennel in the sky if not for tough love, NILIF and the advice or some good GSD people and a dog behaviorist. He's still not perfect, but he's one hell of alot better than he was 2, 3 years ago. Ulli, your head must be full of all sorts of dents LOL.

I'm sorry Echo. I don't intend to sound like a meanie!! LOL. I'm glad your having a trainer come in to your home to evaluate this situation. That is what I do, I'm an all breed trainer, and I deal with these situations all the time. It's best to have someone see what's going on instead of getting advise over the computer anyway,:)
