So then, would it be german pride to account for the COMPLETE appearant lack of interest in importing czech blooded gsd's?

What National line of dogs(excluding their own lines), DO the Germans show interest in importing ? I'd like to learn.

As i said they do not purchase czech Shepherds into Belgium they do not like them simple as that at least so i have been told, and not being funny they say most go to the USA and according to what we read on here they would be correct, It is supply and demand i guess

Yes an Export pedigree but the cost and time about 5 to 6 months of messing about and the risk of losing the Pedigree in the Post, Which is NOT easy to replace. For instance the same Pedigree of Gina was sent to the SV with the samples for DNA, that was very near 4 months ago, 2 weeks ago i started to ask why it was so long it arrived only this morning so counting the above and DNA the Pedigree has been away over half the life time of the Dog if it gets lost then big problems and as said you cannot get a work book without doing the above that is important

I understand Steve, my point is Germany doesn't make a habit of importing dogs from any country. Rarely do they import a dog from another country to use in Germany....they export to everyone else, but import???? I'm sure there are some isolated examples, but they don't import like other countries do in general.

Germany has so many GSD compared to other european countries, so I guess besides german pride they probably don´t fell the need to look elsewhere. If SCh-titles is required and most breed for SCH in germany then I suppose they aren´t that intressted to look at dogs without SCH-titles or dogs from a background with less SCH-focus and lines they are not familiar with, like czech or swedish lines as an example.

It is the same with Belgium they do not import dogs from elsewhere, from Germany on occasion and some from Belgium go back to Germany and some Germans use the Stud Dogs from Belgium and thats about it, There is still a huge Gene pool.
I really wonder why the USA still imports so many dogs when the Country is so huge and the Gene pool must be vast yet they still import Dogs which they have the Lines already there but closer to the originals but still they buy in that makes no sense really.
In my club of around 25 members all the Dogs except two of which i own are all Dogs bred in Belgium. The two i have were German bred by the same Breeder

Tom,Eros/Ellute,Troll,Yoscky,Aly, alot of greats come off of Fero, open up the thread said modern day does that mean more recent than Fero or living dogs only?

America imports a lot of dogs from Germany and the Czech Republic. This is mainly for show reasons, sport reasons, and work reasons. They also import dogs from other countries like Belgium for sport, Sweden for sport/work and Netherlands for work. Really doesn't matter where you get the dog as opposed to whether the dog meets your needs...there are some great breeders in the USA also.
As for Fero, I really hope another Fero does not arise, because too many breeders who know little about breeding are quick to go to fad dogs.JMO
