NIKKI04

Thank you very much Red Sable ... for the clarification ... I'm glad somebody read my post ... LOL

Oh my ,did this thread get off track... I'm just trying to get some feedback on a solution to a friends dog .  As I said before , they are 1st time GSD owners ... and this is the only dog they have in the house ..  I think the little bugger is testing them because they don't know .. I'm sure you all know how smart GSD's are.....  I told her ( the Mom ) to keep taking the dish away from him until he learns to sit and wait , and until he knows that he is not going to get something for nothing .  I personally have had Shepherds all my life and have never had a problem with food agression towards humans and when she told me what he did .... I was afraid for her .. because if she does not stop that behavior dead in its tracks now ..it will only get worse and she does have 2 children to worry about , they are older , they are not babies , they know enough not to mess with a dogs food.  She is trying her best to work with him , she put her hand in the food just yesterday and he did not growl or bite but he started eating even faster than he already does ..   I just don't want to give her bad information as each dog is different .  My Shepherd would sit and wait for me to give her food for as long as I wanted to hold it back from her and YES I can take anything right from her mouth as she is eating ... but that is my dog ... not hers ..  I did tell her to call her breeder and question his behavior and she was really of no help to her . She did sign the pup for one on one "food agression" class , so I 'm hoping they can give her some good advice too !

Thanks again
Lisa

Jenni, well said....

NIKKI being nice and asking nicely full grown dog will not work...gotta get it corrected as soon as possible I say you are 5 months behind already... and you will have to remind them now and than of who owns whom...if you let it slip once it will take you twice as long to get it back on track...

corrected

I actually took the "you" as a general you, and not "you, Nikki". I got that it wasn't her dog.

It's annoying, not anoying.  How's that for petty? However, if it was you being told you were 5 months behind by someone that didn't take the time to read your post, I'll bet my boots you'd be even more annoyed.

I didn't post it to make me feel better, but to show NIKKI some of us can and do read, and to save her some annoyance.

Oooh, this thread is taking a turn for the better; I love grammar debates! LOL

Happy Friday, Ladies. ;-)

As are you Frost.  Anyone else with any class at all, would have just apologized to the O.P. - not you however.  You have the market on 'petty'.

Have at it.

Ok, you're even on petty and lack of/improper comma usage. cheeky

Back to the topic, ok?

LOL, happy Friday Jenni.  It is actually, my horse is kicking butt, 3 wins in a row!

Sorry NIKKI for hijacking your thread, hope your friend gets the handle on this pup.  Those kind do make the best GSD's IMHO. :)
