Jurdon...I like the info. on your female.  Don't be too much of a hurry with her.  She is lined on Fero regardless of what the pedigree says.  There was part of the mothers side I would have love to see some Grief on there, but then you can always go back to Bob for a breeding later with his son of Axel.....a very nice breeding he did, and also contemplating.  Wish I had room for one more I would be at his doorsteps for one of these.  Maybe a female.

Have any of you guys tried infusing in your linebred dogs some Pike or  Mink? Both down from Grief.  Does anyone have any in-depth knowledge of their characters?  I have seen some Dutch sites that concentrate on KNPV trials, infusing their Yoshy lines with Pike.  Not sure what Pike brings to the table.

Remione-Just as I post I saw your posting.  Your female has in its background the Mink line on the fathers side via Malatesta??  This is what I was questioning.  I have seen at our club in LA a son of Mink.  Hard, very very hard.  Handler at times had to take a prybar to open its mouth to get the sleeve out!  He was later sold.  I would think this combo should work and is lined again on Fero as seen on both the dam and sire side of the pedigree.  What is your assessment of your female?

brings Mink thru Crock on the fathers side and Pike thru the mothers side.

A male form Axels litter bred back to her would be a out cross but would bring some very potent lines to cross.

This could very well be a furure breeding depending on the work abality of the young males.

This is what I see. I'm still new to this so it might not be worded the best

Meth head drivey. She loves to chase & loves the fight. The more you fight her the harder she bites, doesnt wanna quit until she wins. Shes only 10months right now. She will go over the sleeve real quick. When she does win she is is super calm & just shows everyone what she has for a lap then drops the sleeve & wants to go again. Shes very independent. The biggest problem I'm having is bonding with her. She's been going through these phases where shes all over me for a couple days then back to telling F U & not careing unless she can bite something. My trainer said when she gets older she will be a "serious" dog not just sport. Her sire Tom was decribed that way to me also. Didn't want to out, liked the fight. I read this post on here awhile back when I was researching for a pup.

" A friend of mine had a half brother to Tom that he purchased from Helmut Huber, both were Ernst sons.  Tom also belonged to the brother or brother in law of an SV judge friend of mine.  From what I remember, Tom was sold just before the 2005 WUSV.  This is like 3rd party info and I wasn't there, but from what I was told the reason for the 60 pt. protection performance was that Tom bit the helper on his unprotected arm and wasn't about to let go.  His half brother had similar problems.  He was the type of dog that if you stepped on his foot by mistake, he would absolutely try and eat you.  He was such a cocky possessive animal that when the sleeve was slipped to him during protection and he was told to "platz", he would hold his head up high and the sleeve would never touch the ground.  You didn't dare approach him with the sleeve in his mouth.  He had to be commanded to "out" with the enforcement of an electric collar and then the sleeve could be carried away.  You could not heal him away from the sleeve.  My friend happened to bump into Herr Huber while traveling to the WUSV as a spectator and he asked him, "How do you get the sleeve away from XXXX?".  To which Helmut chuckled and replied, "You don't!"

Just an FYI that Ernst seems to throw some handler strong dogs and I know for a fact that Mink absolutely throws handler strong progeny.  Not saying you don't have enough experience to handle such a dog, I don't know you.  My friend was an experienced handler/trainer having competed twice at the WUSV himself but he was forced to sell the dog because of risk factors around his wife and newborn.  Good luck with your decision, hope this was helpful."
