No need for the link, seen it long ago, sensationalism at it's best. Extinct??? Again sensationalism at it's best. The breed was here long before you and I and will be here long after we are gone and I believe in a better state than we found it.. Does the breed have problems? Sure, but I refuse to put that only down to show, some yes, certainly not all. I am not talking about American show lines, they, like the British Alsatian, are a disgrace and not worth commenting on. Though your type of GSD is not my idea of the breed standard, you, like me, are entitled to your opinions on how you personally contribute to the breed and how you take the breed forward. I can assure you that not all " show" folks or dogs are the same, FACT!!! Rik... you surprise me.

There's a Sapnish saying that should apply here: "Mucho ayuda el que poco estorba" (It is a lot of help he who hinders least). If you lack the will or knowledge to contribute to the OP's request, then you are a great deal more useful, by staying out of the fray and letting those who are willing and able to provide him with the benefit of their experiece to be of help.

Often you get red herring posters like this one, they ask a broad question and then go away. If a conversation develops as a result of original OP, then I think that's fine. It is a forum after all. personally I wouldn't reply directly to posters such as this generally until I had seen a lot more posts from them, as they read in this case as someone just looking for space on the forum under another alias. I'm suspicious of someone who purports to have a 2mth old GSD and 2 mth old Rottie at same time and reminds me of another poster who just wants to be on website but doesn't actually have a dog. I am happy to be wrong. JMHO
