Jeff, you can be on the rag and I'll chase balls.

by Jeff Oehlsen on 27 August 2010 - 06:08

 I am speechless.

by VomMarischal on 27 August 2010 - 06:08

I'm sure I should be.

Hi Milaso,

Here's how I would go about it.

If you intend to show the puppy in the future.

a) Ensure that the temperamant is good,
i.e. friendly, confident , out going
and not afraid of sudden loud noises.

b)Ensure both testicles are down in the scrotum
i.e. complete as it is a disqualifing fault.

c) If both are equal, now see which has the better
topline,a high wither and moves  effortlessly.
( for the withers, please feel the top of the
shoulder blades there must be a dip. The spine
      should be lower.)

d) By now hope you have made up your mind,
ONE more thing, dont forget to pray hard
for your dog  to have all it's42 teeth and a
     correct bite.

I would normally only check and select
     only at 8 weeks.

Now if it's for working purposes
I'm sure our working friends can assist.

Thank you very much for all your kind and precious suggestions. I want my coming pup will perform well in the Show, and also perform ok in the SCH competition.  I will try to contact the breeder to send me some videos. I will go to the kennel by myself and see the temperament and movement when they are 8 weeks. I will also take you suggestions to check the topline. Thanks a lot again. I will keep updating the puppy even after I have taken one to my home.

PS: Can I ask a question? When you say the second one, does that means the one with longer face? Thanks a lot.

MIlaso, the appearance of the one having a longer face may be due to the fact that the angle of his head is not straight up, but more like he is looking down..The other pup seems to be looking straight into the camera.....JMO.....

Haha, I see. It make sense. But I am still confused which is the "second one"? Since most of the suggestions are inclined to "the second one"

I understand, but the way you wrote it isn't hard to understand..First pic stacked and last pic of the head is the same pup....
Maybe you could have said the bookend pics are the same pup or first pup....The middle pics is the same pup or second pup... refer to them as the bookend pup and the middle pup instead of the first and second pup..Just a thought.....

just from the pics (which is a very poor way to evaluate), I like # 1. Seems to have a little better rear, but maybe it's just a better stack.

good luck,
Rik

Hehe, I see now. I should number the puppy at the beginning.

I agree that judging from the pictures is not a good idea. But thank you very much for your opinion.
