TO All ON THIS THREAD

WHY CAN NO ONE SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE  AND HERE IT IS FOLKS:-

THE GSD LEAGUE OF GB IS HOLDING AN SV EVENT (WITHOUT THE KC'S PERMISSION) ON THE 25TH OF APRIL - PRESUMING FROM THIS EVENT THAT THE LEAGUE IS A NO VOTE.

ANY GROUPS THAT FORM FROM TODAY ONWARDS WILL BECOME SATELLITE BRANCHES OF THE LEAGUE.

THERE IS NO NEED TO START UP A MAIN CLUB IF THE LEAGUE ARE WILLING TO TAKE ON THE NEW GROUPS AND THEY ARE AFFILIATED TO THEM.

THIS IS HOW I SEE IT - AM I WRONG IN MY THOUGHTS HERE?????

THE NEW GROUPS ARE CALLED PROGRESSIVE BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST WHAT IT MEANS - TO PROGRESS THE HEALTH, WELFARE AND WELLBEING OF THE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG IN THE UK.

THERE ARE ALREADY LEADERS IN PLACE.

well said Aileen.clear, concise and to the point.

Aileen – I have presumed much the same thing. All the information on the League’s web site suggests that they are gearing up to a ‘No’ vote if they have not already decided. The problem is that very little information is forthcoming. If the League would clarify their position we would all know rather than have to speculate about it. I very much hope you are right.

Be that as it is, there is no reason why we cannot have in this country a national organisation comparable to the SV. If the League is willing to take on that role then fine but they need to be explicit about it. In meantime there is no reason why we cannot make a start in setting up a national organisation comparable to the SV. Waiting is what has bedevilled progress.

I agree with Peterlee's thoughts on this re the word Progressive. West Yorkshire German Shepherd Dog Club have ALWAYS BEEN PROGRESSIVE AND TO PROVE IT WE WONT BE SIGNING THIS RESTRICTIVE UNDERTAKING. We have never needed the word  Progressive infront of our Clubs name before to progress this breed and so have NO INTENTION of changing it now. Yes, we look forward to this New Excitiong Era of showing our dogs but we certainly dont need to change our Club name to be part of it. West Yks GSD will be quite happy to affiliate ourselves to the GSD League (as we were many years ago) in order to run WUSV shows whilst still keeping our KC Registered Name and individual independance.

Carol , hmmm, never thought of that, you're right we might not be able to have fun but we could make money - Er ANYONE GOT A LARGE TRAILER !!!!! LOL

Best Regards

Congratulations to the West Yorkshire German Shepherd Dog Club for not signing :) Does anyone have a tally of which clubs have/have not signed?

Hi Peterlee,
I have the constitution of the WUSV coming - and in English, will pass it on.    Mo.

Hi Mo and Peterlee
I have just emailed you a copy of the WUSV Constitution in English. Enjoy the read.

Penny - Thanks. It isn't the constitution of the WUSV we need, though. The WUSV constitution can be found on the SV website and also on the Videx website. What I am looking for is the constution of the SV (preferably in English although I will get the german translated if I have to). I think in order to have a national club based on world recognised rules it makes sense to look at the constition of the home club as a model in the first instance although I am open to suggestions....

Peterlee
We do not need to set up under the same rules as the German SV. The WUSV constituation allows for every country to produce their own set of organisation rules whilst still keeping to the main directives of only promoting and breeding from  animals proved to be healthy in both mind and body  by passing a Breed Survey.

Sue - No, of course we don't. You are 100% right about that. All the same, if it comes to looking for a model for a new club the SV Constitution is as good a place to start. If we start from a clean sheet then the closer we can model ourselves on the best international examples the better. If anyone has any better ideas of where to start I am open to suggestions :)
