woah, thats good. So how come she stands like that. You could train her to stand in a better way.

But your opinion is that you don't like her stack that way. American judges do. She stands that way because I put her in those stacks.
The first photo is what American (Specialty) judges like to see

Now..I have to disagree on your statement Xeph that AKC specialty judges likes the way you have stacked your bitch in the first picture.
First let me start by saying that you should always stack a dog in it's natural way..meaning you should not really have to place it. Dogs with very good angles doesn't need to be stacked..they do it by themselves naturally. Try to free stack your bitch..it will tell you a lot about her..
Handlers do this kind of stack (hocks on the ground) for one reason..improve a bad croup! And the left hocks is too far behind..it should be at a 90 degree with the ground. Some handlers will do that too to make you think the dog as more rear angulation and is more high wither..
Hamza..rear angulations as nothing to do with bad hip..I have a bitch with a lot of rear angulation and she is too OFA excellent. You have some really square dogs that are dysplatics ..nothing to do with the way they look..the only way to see bad hips are with an X-ray!

I do freestack my bitch (In the all breed ring). Take a look at most specialty show photos...how often do they present a picture like the 3rd one of my girl?
By the way, her hock isnt on the ground. The grass is covering it.

July, i disagree with you, that is how you are meant to stack a gsd in an AKC show.
Could you stack your gsd in the way German speciality judges want to see them, xeph.

I've gone to a few specialties, though they aren't a favorite venue of mine. It's interesting how and when you take sides on things

XEPH..I don't know what you are talking about when you talk about me taking sides. I don't take sides, when I think something said is right..I say it. When I think it's wrong..I say it too..
I'm not here to make friends ( but if I do well good for me). I'm on this board to talk about GSD and offer my knowledge and experience when I think I can. And i'm here to learn about other people experiences..
I've had my share of arguments on this board about shows and show dogs..I don't pretend to know everything but I DO KNOW ABOUT SHOWS AND ESPECIALLY AKC SPECIALTIES AND ALL BREED AND HOW TO SHOW DOGS. I've shown GSD, Terriers and Hounds, have many friends who are top breeders, handlers and judges.
I don't need to take side..I know enough to make my own opinions and stand by it..
Best
