Im glad too Bee,
I had a skull fracture, my head looked like a basket ball, I can still feel the crack in my skull to this day.
My left elbow had a shattered bone so it clicks when I extend my arm, the shoulder took the brunt of the impact and was only black and blue.
One of the tie rods from the steering was driven up into my leg just above the ankle.
The go kart was more or less broken in two where the car crossed me and the frame.
The driver who was drinking came over and asked me if the thing had any brakes and then killed the motor which was still running, I managed to get up and walk to the side of the road, no help from him, where I fell into the ditch and passed out for the second time.
I will say, since the statute of limitation has surely run out, I returned in time and shot the dog.
The guys father tried to sue us for damages to the car even though his son was speeding and drunk.
I failed to grant the right of way and ran a stop sign, it was a big dog snapping at my face and I never looked for the car because it was a country road and had little traffic.
I am alive because I did not get in front of the wheels, that would have been fatal I believe, timing, good Karma maybe, didn't notice any angels hovering.
I've survived several close calls in my life, I always could see the reason why.
Thanks gouda,
but I am beyond saving and do not agree with your views..

Alright back...... The remaining ones are while being a LEO and I'm sure Slam and a couple others have theirs to tell. For those incidents you don't think someone is looking out for you you're just doing your job and hopefully the best way you know how. And you're just trying to make it home safe, for another night/shift. I Had a Domestic one night and when arriving to the residence, (if backup is available and situation dictates, wait for backup) this night couldn't. Seven people involved, two running out the door, bottles flying, screaming, blood everywhere, crying, CHAOS! Once two outside in a sitting Poston entered house and bodies are running upstairs. Two subjects sitting on couch, looking a little hanky. Finally get everybody separated, trying to figure out what happened. Two subjects on couch looking hanky, getting hanky. Something didn't seem right with these two, Chaos is still going on, screaming, crying, everything. Out of the corner of my eye I see one man on the couch moved his hand for underneath the blanket. My weapon is out and I order him to show me his hands. I order both subjects on the ground and do an immediate search of the couch. Units arrive. A loaded 357 underneath the afghan. Situation could've gone south easily.
Anther incident, subject speeding at 0130 hrs. I pull him over and he's belligerent. I run him and he's suspended. I getting ready to arrest him and while assisting him out of the vehicle, (he wouldn't cooperate) Just as I cuff him and search him he has a loaded 22 Derringer in his front pocket. Once putting him in the cruiser and searching his vehicle he has a loaded 9 mm on the front passenger seat under some bank envelope bags. He was some sort of courier. He was already belligerent from the get go and that situation could've gone south easily.
Another time, I was in two fights in a three day period and the second fight was with an individual who was arrested the night before by County Task Force BUT arresting agency didn't put the word out to adjoining agencies. This guy was big into dealing Heroin.Checking on what appeared to be a vehicle needing assistance/abandoned vehicle. Once at the drivers' door subject was passed out, (coming off his high) and pissed off from the previous night. Well, when seeing me, we had a problem. He tried to jump out of the passenger side door and the fight was on (giving you the brief description) we're in the road and my back up is County probably twenty?twenty-five minutes out. We're in a real bad part of town and over on the corner are five subjects, four of who I have arrested before. Well, they;re cheering for him to kick my a**/kill me. We,re fighting on the ground, everything happened so fast no time to use anything but hands on. I get some pepper spray out he's trying to poke my eyes out with his thumbs and we're going to town. I was winning to an extent and even for a millisecond didn't feel my life was in danger. He either grabbed for my weapon to use or he was trying to get leverage and when he grabbed me it was my weapon. Honestly didn't know. But couldn't let that happen either way and turned it up. My back up I can hear in town and he's racing to assist me. I had a shoulder mike and during the struggle that was bouncing all over the ground while Communications could here bits and pieces when it keyed up. I won the battle just as my back up races through he intersection. Put that guy in the hospital. I had some road rash and scratches where he tried to get my eyes and some bleeding. But even though I didn't feel that I needed to shoot him it could've gone south fast.
And the list could on and on but you get the idea? Sometimes I believe there was a guardian and other times it's due to training and who you are. Just my thoughts.
