I too am very sad to hear about the loss of such a beautiful dog, my heart goes out to the owners. I am also wondering how he died........

D.H. I lost a 14 year old last month and fortunately the first email I sent was to Brittany because it is her business and I wanted to avoid this "ugly" while the "stupid" continues coming forth to aggravate the senses. EVERY responsible breeder or sire owner will contact those necessary as circumstances may require. Is nothing sacred in this electronic age? With my puppies you get a certified pedigree--- The Fathers of my Grandchildren are truly none of your business. If a dog's death has absolutely no bearing on his progeny respect one's privacy. Some just don't have a clue! And it is sad, very sad. It is very apparent--- there are "dog people" and there are "posters". Back in the day they were called "gossiper's" and were NOT respected then, either. Brittany, "Get A Life"! Take it as unsolicited good advice from someone old enough to know. No reply, rebuttal, expected, required, or desired. "NUF SED"! Morgan

Blitzen If you were in the category you describe you probably would know---- You may improve your "social graces" making use of the advice given Brittany. Best you "mull it over" BEFORE you allow more "stupid" to fall from your mouth---- it does not become you, "Dawling"! Morgan

I am not sure I understand why people are upset towards someone that asked how Flipp died. I have lost many dogs through the years and have not been upset when someone asked what they died from. It has certainly been hard to talk about them at times, but I have not found the question offensive. Yes, Flipp died very young and it is VERY sad. It is ALWAYS sad when we loose loved ones and even more tragic when it happens way before thier time. If I owned a dog with Flipp in the pedigree I most certainly would want to know what he died from. I hope the gsd community does hear the reason at some point. Not knowing the reason (don't need to know details) only creates an enviroment of curiousity, secrecy, and lets the imagination run. Might not be 'right' but that is what happens. Is this the 'time' to know the reason. Perhaps not. I am sure the owners are very much in mourning and miss him dearly. We get all upset at people who asked about the reason, however, perhaps it was no one's business to post his death on a public forum to begin with! THis was likely the owners right and decision! My condolences do go out to the owners as well. Times like this are never easy.

I was told the owner said he died during the night from bloat. Gabby
