dear charlie, the dog was bought ONLY BECAUSE OF ME!!!!!
i saved that breeding for tony.and i also emailed you about the pups available ,to which you never got back to ME

so get your facts straight.

i was looking for opinions.
he does not get on these things
and asked for ME TO FIND HIM THE BEST .
i did that.
yes KOTCH was NOT MINE, but TONY is family to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and as i said he went through me since I WAS THE ONE TO FIND YOU , and the breeding!!!!!!!!!!!
where did i say you are not responsible breeders. all i did was talk HIGHLY OF YOU and YOUR breeding program.that is why he was so comfortable sending the money instanly.

thank you for doing the right thing.
it makes you now exactly what i said you were!!!,
"TO TONY"
that is why he bought the dog!!!

I don't think it's a scandal, yet. LOL

Hopefully, the breeder will make it right w/whoever owned Kotch. RIP sweet puppy.

So an intussusception of the intestine was not the problem? I am concerned as I had a puppy I imported that had an intussusception after I had her for 2 months. Did surgery on her and she was fine for 5 days and it did it again. There was no (obstruction) in the intestine to cause it. I had never heard of it before but the gsd is the #1 breed for that to happen too. It was a "super pup" too. She was put down & thankfully my breeder did replace her. Very sorry for your loss as I definately know what your going through. Sincerely. Kurt

Knock on wood...I have no experience w/either of those things; can this be misdiagnosed often? Could Kurt's pup really have had Mega-E?

Dawn, when you feel like talking, please explain how the vet went from intussusception to mega-e. Thanks.

Yeah jenny I am curious too how it went from intussusception to mega-E. My pup definately had an intussusception where one part of the intestine telescopes over itself. Can be caused by parasites or something lodged in the intestine and cannot pass it. My puppy had neither. It just "happened" and ifrom what I understand the gsd is the #1 breed for this to happen too. All of her littermates were fine and nothing (that I know of) in her background. I have also heard stress can cause it. I don't know but sure was bummed out. I couldn't have asked for a nicer acting puppy. She was definately living up to the "hype" of her breeding. Very unfortunate thing. Loss of appetite, vomiting & loose stool are the symptoms. Vet told me that because it did it for no apparent reason that there was a good chance it would do it again. She came home and acted fine. Her appetite was back and she acted like nothing ever happened. 5 days later it did it again. The vet told me he wish she had swallowed something to have caused it and because she didn't "it wasn't a good sign". Intussusception is bad news.. sincerely. Kurt

Dawn:  sorry you are having to deal the hard blow.  Death of any of our   dogs is the worst part of breeding and owning a  canine.

Is this a pup out of  son of NIKE?

When the results come back it would be good to know who this pup is out of , especially if either or both are INHERITED traits

Mega usually starts to show when pup is weaned..How old was this pup?

written to me by my cousin just now

you know now that i think back, hind site is 20/20.  but when the dog first got here on monday when i took him to the office he was hanging out with my dad and was hiccuping bad. and throughout the week he would regurgitate a little but he would lick it back up and  act normal. so i never thought twice about it. when they first examined him they thought it might be an obstruction/or intussusception they wanted to take him immediately to surgery. i said no, not until they have the ultrasound. thank God.
