Of course one should make one's own determinations about puppies, but don't forget to ask the breeder what they see in individual puppies. If a breeder understands what the individual is truly looking for in a puppy they can be a valuable asset. After all they have been with the puppies from day 1.
All litters, even working line litters will as we all know have those puppies more suited to one job or another job. If a breeder is reputable, experienced and interested in having "happy" clients, they will know a lot about the puppies at a fairly young age and be able to steer the sport, police, protection clients to the right puppies, as well as the comapnion clients to the sort of puppy suited for them.

Mystere, I ordered the DM test tonight as your post reminded me that I should have it it done before I breed my bitch.

I am somewhat disappointed that this is an in home certification.

I have known several cases where "ringers" were substituted for OFA.

I do not see anything that prevents the same thing happening for DM certification.

best,
Rik
