This thread is going a lot more cordial and informational than I thought it was going to be. A lot of the older post when the GSD was compared to other breeds became kind of unruly

Hi Guys,
If you are interested in (or curious about) a Bouvier, you really need to look at one totally from working lines - good working lines. There is quite a delineation between the contemporary working and show lines. I noticed tracking was mentioned. Here are a couple of females, the younger of which has the look of the old (original) Bouviers mentioned here, who compete in a sport called Campagne. Campagne includes two lengthy tracking exercises (one to find a decoy, the other to locate objects) as well as a search in a lake or other body of water for an object hidden there. The contestants and dogs never know what they will encounter in the exercises they will face until they face them in a trial. Because of the completeness and difficulty, Campagne success can give you a pretty good idea of a dog’s abilities.
2.25 year old female, KNPV and French Campagne/Ring lines, in Campagne 2,

Her ten year old grandmother, trialing and training in Campagne,

Here is an old style Bouvier female from KNPV lines - I think she is 5 years old now,
