I have always worn cleats.....never had knee problems. Couldn't see working without them. I work on grass, dirt. I've stepped on a dogs toes before..so what, it happens! I don't get bent out of shape when I get accidentally bit:-) Safety first guys/gals!

You want traction. I don't care if you do Ring or Schutzhund you need to be able to move quickly and safely. You must be able to turn, cut, change directions and speed. You can't do that in tennis shoes. Your best bet is Turf shoes (soccor, football) for most applications, or cleats for muddy conditions. Turf shoes are not as aggressive as cleats, but they have a good grip on most surfaces. . A stepped on foot or broken toe is nothing to losing your footing and pulling a quad/hamstring, tearing a knee or achillies. That was just the helper. Think about what you could do by losing your footing and falling on the dog or while catching the dog. Safety is first, and foremost. Explain that to your club. And yes MAX if you look at your pic of the Decoy he is wearing soccor turf shoes.

Waleed,
You always do that say what you want say....
Here I will say what you were going to say.
If you get your fat ass on the field and you are not in shape,
you are going to injure you and the dog.
Waleed is skinny fast and agile he is not going to have the
same issues that some who is not trained and not in shape.
Is that about it or was there some thing I left out...???
Here are those shoes Tom......

I worked out with Micheal Merriweather of the Vikings and Steelers
years ago....He is friends with Jerry Rice 49er receiver.
Jerry is like 6 "3 and a 190 Lbs but is probably one of the best
all time receivers in the history of football.....
Mike said Jerry is always the first to show for training camp and the last
to leave. He works harder than anyone to be the best receiver he can be.
The amazing thing is his longevity.....This guy is targeted at every game
yet he beat the odds of survival in a game that is unforgiving of mistakes.

Thanks again everyone for the advice... I am probably going to order these... they are turf baseball shoes, but seem to have alittle more tread than the other turf shoes I have seen... And they are softer than molded cleats, so I figure this is the best bet...

Toms shoes are very good.
If you put alot pressure on the outside front edge of your foot
with ones you want to get a loose fit.

Bob,
I generally run about 220 Lbs....
And I am not skinny by any means....
You will put a lot of tork on your joints
so it is best to pay more for a good
pair of shoes....injuries can be much more
expensive.....If you do this kind of stuff for a
living it is a must....I buy the best shoes
I can find.....Shoes are like the tools of the
trade.
