I think you have been very unfair to your dog when  it comes to living space! You need a dog door in your garage acess door!   A large totem for his marking and  more  kentucky blue grass in his run area! dog dooor will eliminate the need for you to open the door  to let him in ! Perfect for the winter time! Oh shoot I got the perfect solution! since he is close by I will just go pick him up when his training is finished in 3 weeks!LOL LOL LOL! He can move in with me and Halo!LOL LOL  Just make sure the garage is dog proof before you allow him unlimited access to it ! Looks wonderful to me!

Deanna!

Everyone should think about their dogs needs as much as you do, your dog is lucky to have such a thoughtful owner, I am happy that you have him indoors at night with you, even though you think your dog is inside just sleeping by your bed, he is on duty and working through the night!

Have you seen the picture of the GSD on Loldogs? The one where the GSD is climbing over the chainlink fence right by the Beware of Dog sign with a caption that reads, "Oops, Too Late!" Gsds are very smart & adaptable, if they can't jump over, they will climb out. Put a lid on it, literally! While it's still a novelty, Ruger hasn't thought about escape yet, but if he's out there a lot, he will. One thing I've learned from my dogs, they will go to any extreme to be with me, never mind the damage they do to themselves, they act as tho' torn pads, split claws, the occassional cut or scratch are nothing at all, if their reward is being at my side. And I know Ruger is bonded with you, so before long he'll be plotting on how to accomplish that. In the end, my dogs won, they get to be with me. They mind the rules I set, & they get to be by my side every minute I'm at home, & just a room away when I'm asleep. One of these days, I know one of them is gonna show up at my work, LOL! I guess I'm trying to say, it's a nice pen, but Ruger loves you, don't isolate him. jackie harris

jackie,,,You make a very good point,,,The thing that really gets Prince going is wanting to get to me.......When I drive away, I call home to make sure he did not escape. One day I expect to see him in my rear view mirror....lol...lol...

I am going to have to think on this a bit more......
