all over huh....lol Focus means more to me than the dog looking at my face. Staying on task, listening for commands, looking yes, but not for a treat. We stay on task with minor corrections and motivation, treats when the task is complete. You are the motivator, how you put the dog through whatever paces you have to complete with your own energy and encouragement. Once focus is learned it must be reinforced and refreshed. A dog will lose focus if not worked, reminded, regularly. I keep my dogs guessing to keep them focused on me, it's not easy so I know it works. Theres all kinds of focus.

I have a few methods, but the best is to buy a mask of Phil. He's so pretty, the pup has no option but to stare. If you can't locate a Phil mask at the local Lions Den, I get the pup to drive into me for the food. When he has a reliable sit, iput my hands out to the side until he looks at my eyes. Immedite marking and reward. In about 5 minutes you'll have a death stare. I wouldn't do any of this until you have the dog pushing you for the reward. Whether it is food or a toy. The same works for both.

I use the food and them looking at me, mark and feed as well. The difference is, I soak their meals so it is soft and an easy reward. They work for every meal. Totally different results than just for treats. Mainly in the intensity of the focus.

Don't use a mask of me unless you're planning on a face bite,,,,,,,,,,,,,been done and with very bad results.  5 1/2 hours of a plastic surgeon sewing me back together and this is the best he could do.  I told him I wanted to look like Boy George but he just couldn't pull it off.
