Phil get serious you went to ONE seminar and thats whats you base your opinionon on? Please dont tell me you belive everyone and everything that is said at a seminar!  ALL dog sports can be dangerous.I know for a fact that dogs get hurt in there own kennels, at least PSA people do somthing with there dogs! Our politicans say stuff all the time and you belive them too?

Dog trials are fun. I want to go out and have a look. What's for lunch?
:-)

All dogs competiting in any activity can get hurt regardless.  I see a alot of friends that were very active in dogs no longer active due to economy, family, life changes.  I like the rule change in regards about the arm presenataion. Hopefully it will bring new members into PSA.  Lucillano has a duanting task of reviving PSA on the west coast.  I wish him all the best. I Will try to go out and support the trial. PSA should do demos at dog events or advertise.  In November the SCh Nationals will be in Carson city a nice opportunity to try to attract new membership....

Von Marischal once in awhile I get to work a dog from your breeding Buck owned by Ken Hasimoto. I like the dog.

Regards,

Mario

Laurel you and Brita are looking fantastic, good luck, tell everyone I said hello :)
Always,
Cee and Jami

Astra loved PSA, she loved the suit, I trusted the decoys and the sport, I would not have put my dog in anything to get her or myself hurt. The decoys are hand picked for trials, they love the dogs and the people that own them.

Mario that is so nice to hear! Thanks so much! Buck is a nice fella....small like his daddy from what I understand. I hope his training is coming along well. Buck's mom is coming close to her PSA1, I hope. We may not be really ready for the next trial but we will do it anyhow for the practice and to support the club. I look forward to meeting you there!

I did not cast dispersions against any individuals but against the philosophy and application of a "sport".  The only name I mentioned was the person who was supervising the seminar and the work.  Again, personal injuries mean nothing here, those are decisions we make for ourselves to participate under sometimes less than safe conditions.  The dog does not have the same luxury.  You can spin it any way you want but I think I've been around the sports and have touched base on enough of the disciplines to know safe work and theory when I see it.

No problem. I think I get what you think. Dispersions and all.

Well I certainly wouldn't throw my dogs to the proverbial "wolves" either. We have safe decoys and one of the best decoy trainers in the country. He wont pass a unsafe or inept decoy. I have seen decoy camps with not a single passed student.

Speaking as someone whose dog was knocked out cold in the protection phase of the BSZS in Nurmberg, I can testify that dogs can be injured in the sport no matter where you are and how confident you may be in the helper.

There was a 17 year old kid around here who joined our club. She was a VERY novice decoy. NOthing against her, she's fine, but she just lacked what it takes to be a good decoy.  My understanding is she sent in a video of herself working one dog, became a top level and "teaching" decoy.

No thanks.
