Bob-O

Show-line or working-line? The individual dog from either breed line that can do the work.

This is similar to a question that I often hear "which is the best sidearm to have in a crisis?" Of course my answer is "the first one you can reach that is fully-loaded; chambered, and in fire position." Daryl, make mine a .45 ACP. Would this be a "working-line" sidearm?

Best Regards,

Disagree, Bob. I trust some models over others. Give me an H&K p2000.

If I thought I needed to heavily work the trigger, I'd be more inclined to grab my 40SW and five 11 round clips.  I'd like a 45ACP, but bullet count drops considerably with an in-line stack design, or becomes uncomfortably thick otherwise.  But if I can get by with lower capacity, the 300gr JHP's in my 44mag has has much greater power and I'm more accurate anyway with a revolver than semi auto.  Guess it depends on my level of desperate need.

My "showline" gun is the 460XVR.  It doesn't get a lot of practical use, being that each round costs a heart-stopping $1.25

Daryl, nice "show line " gun; good for show but not for serious work.

Sam, I have an H&K USP 40 full size for work, very nice gun and a P2000sk for off duty.  Both, top of the line working line guns.  I have about 5,000 rounds through the USP 40. Never fails.  I also have a Kahr .45 sub compact for off duty carry as well.

I will say that after seeing literally dozens of people shot, I've never seen anyone walk away from a .45.  It does a very good job.  I have seen people walk away from 9 MM rounds on many occasions.  Of course shot placement is critical, but not as critical with a 45.  It's hard to walk with a shattered femure or hip.

FWIW,

Jim

Just look at the following website:

A1K9

They have both working & showline dogs that are trained to executive level in protection.
So in my opinion both are good.

H&K's are nice if I was looking for something along the lines of an MP5 but in handguns, I'm a Sig guy.

"The typical build of a showlines dog works against him in serious working endevours. He's not built for strength, stamina or agility."

Wrong.

I am sure WITCHES with all their powers and broom flying make better protection then dogs sl or wl....so whats the question?

by Sam Spade on 05 August 2010 - 15:08

Jim, I've shot around the same amount of rounds with the p2000 and I've never had a problem. When you have 12 others at the range with you and all are carrying a p2000 and you never have to stop for a malfunction, it is nice. What can ya say, Germans know how to make working lines. The trigger and magazine take some getting used to, but once you do, it is very nice. Very different for anyone that is accustomed to the Glock22. A lot of my friends that are in different departments are all vacating the 9mm.

<<< loves her .380 versa.....too bad bullets are pain in the a$$ to find..LOL..

speaking of shooting, my female GSD can't seem to get used to gun fire (maybe it's just the gun) she is fine with thunders, fire worksm, any loud noise...except when I fire my gun... she just starts circling and nudging me...any suggestions?
