A couple of thoughts, first thanks to both Gayle and Mary for taking the time to respond to WDA membership and those interested. Both are in leadership positions in the WDA and I do appreciate hearing from them.

Second, Danny was active in both showing and training his w/l GSD. I have seen him participating in both WDA and UScA events. I never felt he was using his position to advance his dogs. I have seen him step into the ring at a UScA event  and assist with the "leg" work to keep the event running smoothly. I saw him expend quite a bit of energy at a UScA event helping an inexperienced elderly lady double her dog.

He led the effort to flush the toilet that was the WDA and now we have in every elected position real GSD people, not GSDCA lackeys.

The sad part is that those who know what a GSD should be are split into 2 groups, Combined they could change the makeup of the GSDCA, split as they are, both are weaker.

JMHO,
Rik

Does anyone know why you can no longer find mention of WUSV 2013 on the GSDCA or GSDCA-WDA websites?

Does anyone know why you can no longer find mention of WUSV 2013 on the GSDCA or GSDCA-WDA websites?

because they (WUSV board pulled it from them  another host organization will be announced  I heard it may be austria  but not sure.  Thank god !! I had horrible visions about the board of GSDCA planning a working dogs event and at such a world event it would have been a horrible mess and the  reputation of the Unites States would have been destroyed . USCA set a new standard when we last hosted the WUSV recovered from the not so well run WUSV Boston under Meloy .

Again the seperation of GSD organizations ( JA ammendment ) is a good thing .

I got a emaill last nite from a friend in Germany who basically said the same thing about it being pulled from the GSDCA.

Bob
I have known about this since last year :)   At the time it was still posted on their web site  he said not for long  but I never re-checked GSDCA website  . The international GSD world is  aware NOW that the GSDCA breed standard is NOT the world standard nor do they practice any temperament /performance evaluations . WDA is just being used to cover their butts. With Mr Spreitner resigning   should tell all of us who admire the working GSD   the premier GSD organization in America  is The United Schutzhund Clubs of America  , period .

oops there it is.

Now if we can just get UScA to actually represent the membership..... by which I do not mean to imply that WDA is necessarily doing a great job of that. :)

oh, I don't know, the USA doesn't seem to be a whole lot better about anything.  Still corruption, still a good ol boys club, still backstabbing, bitching, underhanded dog deals and  politics as usual there too.  How about us that just want to train dogs, have fun, brag a little, be humbled at times, test our dogs and just hang out with good people, what about us?

Preach it, Pia!! :-) I must say, though, that I *was* looking forward to another WUSV on this side of the pond in a few years. Too bad Mexico couldn't have taken it for 2013. Guess we just have to wait for Argentina in 2016. :-)
