crhuerta,
It's no one in IL, it's back in New England. With the exception of Raven and Taiga (and my JRT), all my dogs are there, and all my work is done out east. The kennel in question is using the same name, except with "von" instead of "vom" and omitting the word "haus", across the stateline from where my kennel is located. New England states small enough a person can live in one, and work 9-5 in another.
Geographically speaking, I consider my IL residence temporary. Technically my legal address and "home of record" are back east. I suppose I should've clarified when I said "where I'm located" I meant where my kennel is located. (Pronoun fail on my part.)
Thanks for the suggestions everyone :-) I'll see what I can do. I'm not out for blood, I just don't want people thinking their dogs are mine.

So the kennel is using, "von Nordostern," whereas your kennel name is, "vom Nordostern Haus"? Not the same name.

Agree with Keith.....as "close" as it may be...it is not "technically" the same kennel name.
I see it alot .....kennel names very similar to one another......I always wondered "why?"...
Julie.....I couldn't figure who in Illinois had the same kennel name?....(since I know you are here)....thanks for clarification.

I think it's just happenstance that someone came up with a kennel name very close to yours and doubt there was either any knowledge of your kennel or malicious intent. Nordostern is , of course, German for Northeastern and both of you apparently live in New England; it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how this could have happened.

Like I said, I'm a bit skeptical of coincidence, but I try not to think the worst of people. Not a healthy mindset. I know Nordosten means North-eastern. Hence the choice. I just get skeptical when dogs' names start to overlap a bit. Again, could just be coincidence; then again maybe not.
I simply do not want my program to be confused for theirs. Afteral, who is to say, if this actually is a coincidence, they'd want theirs to to be mistaken for mine? I think not being mistaken for one another if it is an unintended coincidence is reasonable.

Which is precisely why I asked in my first response to this thread whether or not you had contacted them directly.

Considering this other breeder is a DDR line breeder, and is not active in schutzhund, I doubt she picked her kennel name intentionally to confuse her dogs with yours. She's probably not even aware of your kennel.
