Your right. There's nothing to be gained from asking for someone else's experience. On an unrelated note, I'm looking for a trainer. What do you guys think about Tim Helser?
What ever happened to DR?

Well I dunno, RFS, I guess you could go directly to him and ask him, if he says he's a great trainer, well, you know that he is!!

Let me ask you this, You are interested in a Puppy that i have bred and of course you do not know me, So what you would do is to go onto a Dog Forum and ask if anyone knew me and what sort of person i am in breeding and dealing in selling the Pups
Now then i guess you would take notice of those on the Forum who give there opinions, If you do not like what you hear then i suppose you would not bother, Yet you are going on only here say
You have yet to approach me and ask me if i have anything to sell you, That is not the way to do business with anyone However if you did in the end contact me of course you would be asking a lot of questions as you should, BUT i too would be weighing you up as to what i think of you as a person being suitable for one of my Dogs, and if i got wind of you asking a Forum for any information on me BEFORE you had even contacted me first then you would be told to Not bother for you would not be a suitable person for one of my Pups
First and Foremost you go to the One you may be dealing with, If after that you are still unsure then you can ask others if they know me and my kennel but in the right order
BUT you do not do such a thing until you have contacted the Breeder first and asked your questions, least ways that is the right way to go about it in a straight foreword and Honest way But i guess that is your way
Anyone thinking the same if i was a breeder would get short shrift from me

If you ONLY go by the what the seller says, that's just stupid You think they are gonna say,
hey, we are crooks but we'll treat YOU right.
Talk to many people who have done business with them, that will get you a lot farther.

You are another one who does not read posts correctly. FIRSTLY you should go direct to the breeder ask any questions you want and see the reaction you get,
THEN if you are not happy with the answers you get, then you ask others BUT you ask others SECOND not before you approach the BREEDER first i highlight bits because some of you need to change your glasses
All these POSTS and where is this TROY Guy the one who asked he has not replied he himself, is a complete waste of time anyway, He has posted Twice on this forum and nearly everyone is falling over to back him against what i say
Yet he has not approached the Breeder, or if he has, he has NEVER said so yet you back every word he says if that is all he has to offer best make them the last
Many of you Guys have a different angle on life than i do your ethics and the way you go about things have much to be desired with some of you, Here is one person who would never deal with many of the above posters on this thread, You can ask me as many questions as you like and get a straight answer But should i ever here that you went second hand before approaching me then you would get no chance and any Breeder worth his or her salt will do the same, and drop you like a Ton of Bricks for being under handed, thats means NOT trustworthy, and that statement appies to all on here who back this TROY

Well i guess il give my 2 cents-
When job hunting- what is the process? interview then reference calling right? So why should it be any different if you are interviewing potential kennels/breeding programs?
I think 1st a person should educate themselves to breed/with help if necessary 2nd the person should weigh there options and figure out what is the best dog type for them, 3rd person should contact selected programs that meet criteria, 4th contact references if they feel need and 5th find selected appropriate breeding and research it and 6th meet the pup, parents (more if possible) and litter mates.
I think if you go onto a forum before meeting the person and giving them a chance you go into the meeting with mixed intentions if you go at all. I mean how many people on here go on and on about this and that breeder is horrible blah blah blah to only have 10 others come and say they were great for them. I mean honestly lets look at this for a second. training pet dogs- how many people bring dogs to you and are completely honest about all their dogs issues etc.... and realize it takes more than majic pixy dust to solve there dogs issues? you have to pry them open, work the dog, and deduce everything right? well breeders have to this as well. and im sorry to say i dont know anyone with a 100% success rate. at placing dogs-whether rescue-breeder-etc....... so there is always gonna be some slanderous unhappy butt whole. Or an owner that was an idiot, or a dog that changed as it grew(such as low drive pup and blossomed later and became a monster). Or a pup that got displasia or developed a spine issue or something.
Plus going on forum blindly you have no knowledge of what the posters intentions or knowledge level are either. so i think its a little pointless. So why would you do that?
