Pharaoh

by Pharaoh on 08 April 2010 - 18:04

I have not been around here much and I missed the thread where the unhappiness started.

Steve!  How can you abandon us like this.  We "senior" citizens are a very small number here.   We cannot afford to lose you.

Your posts are some of the more informative, knowledgeable and interesting.  I learn a lot from you even when I don't agree.

I really enjoyed the thread about the kennel you built.  I was expecting to see Izzy grow up and follow her triumphs and backslides (if any, they are such learning opportunities).

As tough a guy as you are, you have a very big heart.  Your heart is so big, occasionally it slides down to your sleeve.

I will miss you and encourage you to use that big heart to forgive and to not abandon us.

Steve,
Although, I do not post as much as others.....I too miss your posts and comments.
I respect your ideas and opinions as I respect many others that contribute knowledge to the forums......I hope to be able to read your "thoughts" again soon!
Sincerely,
Robin

I suspect dear Steve is out doing what so many of the rest of us have been doing now that the spring weather is in the northern hemisphere.

Steve,

I too missed the posts where you left. I hope you are ok, and like the others, though I have not had a lot of interaction with you, I do enjoy your posts and hope to see you again here sooner than later. There are some very good people here, you included.

Steve1,
I hope you are only taking a short break and not deserted us all forever.  I have always enjoyed following your progress with Izzy bitch :)  and your enthusiasm in schutzhund.  You must be proud that Izzy's dad Como came 2nd in the Belgium 1st selection trials.....em, beaten by a tiekerhook!!! lol  Look forward to your come back.

Hi Guys
Yes, i am still around and thanks for the thoughts that is nice. Just a little Blip and it is good to take a break from the norm  this is too Gustav
Our little forays was nothing to do with me not posting and you were not the reason for i too respect your views on the Dog world and Handling of Dogs, and I do not ever take umbrage on what is said in words, not normally from anyone except from when i found out who Player was, That did take me out of my stride for a short while, However that is in the past and all is well between Matt and i and i will never bring it up again.
Posting from me will i expect be a little less now the pigeon season is here as Bob mentioned, Most days now is a 5 oclock start for me, and for three nights a week when training the Dogs a 11,30 late evening finish, so a long day and that will not break off until September, It becomes hard after a few months and i think after this year i will have to decide on one hobby or the other Dogs or Pigeons, However with the pigeons i have been in the sport for 60 odd years and i have nothing to prove to myself any more, I have had a great time with them and done well so i think they may take a back seat  adter this seasons ended
The Dogs those too i have owned for 60 years, and also done well in the fields i took interest in the past.
Training two Pups on to win Sheep herding Competitions and also helping to train Guide Dogs for the Blind for a while and a few other people with there dogs, Now I am in a different country and i have young Izzy, and It is she that i need to give more time too So i think after this year the pigeons racing will be cut back and the pigeons themselves so i can spend more time on the Dog side, and live a more normal life instead of taxing the brain and running around so much for pigeon sport is hectic and my brain is in over drive much of the day and night so much planning and thinking so i think a rest is needed after all those years
Izzy is going on fine in her training, She is now doing the BH routine with the run and slow walk and through the group off leash, We just have to get the long down right without a line and she will be ready for the BH, But seeing she is still not 11 months old i have a good 4 months to get her right
In the meantime she is going over the Meter jump but three quarters height and the A Frame if it is a little less steep i let her go over but i am still not happy on the stress on her legs at her age so unless it is a little less steep angle i keep her off it for a month or so
So yes, Thanks i am still here

Yes,  Good morning Steve

Here I am with eyes propped open working on my main client's tax estimate......ugh.....it may be time for more hot chocolate, my favorite stimulant.

Pharaoh is asleep on the rug in my home office.  He was dreaming and talking in his sleep.  It must have been a good dream, he was making cooing noises, like he was curling up with another dog he really likes.  Very sweet.

Back to work, break time is over.  Have to get everything finished before morning.

Michele
