They get too much food at one go if you think not do not eat your self all day long at 7O'Clock in the evening eat your days food in one go and tell me how you feel afterwards, you will be bloated
NO you feed a dog twice a day just put out its daily ration split it into two meals one morning one at night No extras if it does not eat it right away TAKE it away till the next feed then if it eats it good but no more added
I find it strange how many on hear get allergies with there dogs Skin and coat problems, Ear problems and Bloat etc yet in 60 years of keeping dogs never one problem why is that
All this person has to do is not feed her over fed dog for a day or two then the problem will be solved providing she is not so heavy handed with the food in the future i said it first time she had trouble and it is said again but i think it will be in vain posting it, and before she may say how is it you know, i answer Lady i tell you it is down to experince and practise that you cannot beat

If he is not working hard each day..walking is not enough hard exercise , so his appetite may decrease some , do not worry.
He is one healthy dog..He has always been picky, so nothing new..He is just that way. Never feed on a schedule. Make him think he is not gonna get fed.
I never fed mine every day. Fasting a dog is good. Keep him hungry not full. Curiousity always does "kill the cat"
He needs more exercise now that good weather is coming..Shepherds require hard work outs to keep them hungry if they are not from the FOOD DRIVE bloodlines, and there is a difference. All of mine ate the bag, me and the food and would tell me they were still hungry..It runs in certain bloodlines and some do not have a food drive.. Drake never did , according to a little birdie I know who told me so..!!

You are correct and I've stated that many times. The only time he was food driven was when I had 3 other dogs. And even then, he didn't scarf his food, didn't really guard it, but would "dare" the others to go near his bowl. When they weren't close enough to scuffle, he'd finally decide to take his good old time and eat. The others were like sharks, lurking. It was annoying as well. But, when we had to leave the others, the only he's eaten regularly is when we've stayed with other dogs, which we did last year. Once back to Pittsburgh, I stayed with two friends unitl I got a place. They both had dogs. Now that we're alone, it seems like the fun has been taken out of eating for him, he misses the "game". Pain in the butt. I also have to look at cutting back on his food. Maybe I'm offering him too much and you're right, he doesn't get as much excercise. There are deep woods within 5 miles and I can take him during the week but I have to work. On the week end, there are a million quads so it's not good. I do have days when I work just nights, so we can go a few times a week, but not every day. He does need some off-lead run time and in my situation, it's just difficult to get enough. So, we walk morning and evening. If I'm off, we go three times and do a romp if it's a week day. So, at this point I'm thinking it's a combination of all these factors and I need to cut back. My camera battery is charging, I'll get a pic and you tell me.

Now for my own single male dog, it is just like Hodie describes. What I do different, (because I'm a pet person with kids)is not worry because I make him initiate the meal, if someone forgets. How? Well, we have a cupboard where I store his food on the bottom shelf. He knows it is there and when hungry will stand in front and bark. If it is meal time, the cupboard is opened at which time he chooses a can of dog food to bring to a small male child. It is then their responsibility to open and feed the dog one half of its contents with a bit of his kibble.
