By the way, if you or your dog is on doxycycline, you have to not take it with certain other supplements and foods. For example, one might like to give yogurt to help replace the good bacteria, but calcium interferes with the way the antibiotic works, so leave at least 3 hours between giving the med and the yogurt.

Y'all gotta get some guinea fowl! They eat up all the ticks in the yard. Well, if the dogs don't eat the guinea fowl. That's how my sister in Tucson handles the tick infestations...but she just has one old Catahoula.

a friend of mine has chickens and never has a mosquito in her yard (lucky!) I've heard the guinea hen thing, with my luck, my aussies would love to have them for "play" and/or the neighbors would complain:))
