I have a friend who bought a lovely pit bull, just a really nice dog. But as it grew up, its back legs became so small, straight and deformed that now they go straight to the ground, hip to toe. When he eats, sniffs the ground, drinks, whatever, his back feet don't even touch the ground. He is so front heavy that when his front is down, his little rear tips up...and he has a lot of pain in those deformed little back legs. I feel terrible for him. Doubt he'll live to be 3.

Enough said? I sure don't think so. But if you think I'm getting into a battle of brains with a shrieking and bossy hysteric, think again.

tuffscufflek9 enough said?  Never blame the breed, always blame the owners, both ignorant and stupid ones. Ones with egos to fill, and ones who are ignorant in not knowing both the instincts behind the breed, and knowing or looking to get the proper training and socialization for the dogs.

Abhay, let's stop talking about Pits with morons. It just makes me madder and madder, and it's not good for my blood pressure. These f'ing idiots cannot even recognize that the dogs they have a problem with are not even anything you can call an APBT...they will never understand, so let's not be responsible for educating fools.

GSD guy...I wasn't insulting blues in general; I was insulting any website who has to advertise blues as a marketing ploy. A recessive blue gene cropping up is fine; I have one myself. He's a very dilute chocolate blue brindle. Please know I wasn't ripping on YOUR dog...just the hype surrounding "blues."

That website is frighteningly close to what some breeders are trying to do the the GSD.. Taking an unusual color and making it bigger  (at least is was pretty uncommon 20 years ago when I first became interested in the ABPT-now I see them every weekend at Petsmart up for adoption for $100) and making it bigger.. Everyone knows bigger is better. Therefor, you must ask thousands of dollars when you breed them... Most end up as I said at the shelter.
I see these people who walk in with their new HUGE,  BLUE puppy come into my store to buy supplies for  their new puppy. As it was pointed out, yes many of these people can be judged immediately as people who want a bad-ass dog, and are not true fanciers of the breed... Not all, but I am a pretty good judge of character...

Also sites like this www.thebullyhouse.net/pitbullpuppiesforsale.html are FULL of contradictions right on this one page. The owners claim to have "Classic looking" pitbull, yet they range from 70 to 100 pounds.. Far from classic...

Ah well another breed quickly going down the toilet...

What?  So you're telling me that bigger isn't better? Surely your not saying any blue dog which has to be full of staff, aren't really pits?
Next you will tell me that guys like Casey Couturier and Dave Wilson just mixed a bunch of crap together to make a buck.

any pit that even looks at a human as a bite toy
should be put down
no way a child should be able to inflict enough pain for
a real pit to defend its self
they take very nasty bites and keep there tails wagging
they in my opinion should never be trained to bite humans
magnificient breed that idiots have tried to destroy.
some of the most game pits i have known were 30-50
pounds and would "go" and "scratch" all day, which is where game comes into play

btw jenny post a pic of your old avatar, now  that is a beauty
out of curiosity how big is he

Any man or dog, can scratch when they are on top, fresh and winning.  It's when one is on the bottom, down and out, hurt, exhausted, and frustrated, that is when the scratch will show the mettle (gameness) of the one to leave the line.

The term "Start from Scratch" from the scratch line in the old bareknuckle fights.
