I am hard of hearing too.  Isn't that the way we grew up saying it?  Is hearing impaired the new description?

I know I depend on my dogs to let me know when someone comes in the driveway.   And they let me know when the food timer goes off, because food is involved probably!

I'm not hard of hearing but my dog jumps up even from a solid sleep if my phone rings and he stares at it then looks at me.If i don't answer it right away he nudges it with his nose.He is very alert to things and makes sure to tell me about them.
Never trained him for it and actually have only had him a few weeks. He is 2 and was always living outside but is loving being in the house.

I live in Azle and have heard about this situation.  I am willing to supply a pup for service work with this family.

If they want it I will train it.Looking for dogs to train for the service dog organization I am with. We were going to be getting them from the shelter here but we will take dogs if donated and if they have the right temperament for the job.Would have to know what is going on with the guy that was attacked and if they are looking to get another service dog or if a place has already given them one.Does anyone know how the guy is doing?

Lav, can I borrow him? That's one thing I've never been successful in teaching my dog to do!

That's wonderful that you're volunteering to train a new pup for this gentleman! GO YOU!!!

At one point in time I would say that you could have him as i was only taking him in to train and then find a home for him.We have gotten attached to eachother though. He is quite the character.Only problem is the dog aggression but we are working on that and he is getting better. As with all things it just takes time.If you want you can PM me what it is you are doing with your dog for the phone rining and maybe I can help or give some pointers.

I placed a call into the sheriff's dept.  to forward my # to the family.

I have a litter of 3 week old pups,  they are welcome to one if they are interested.
