....And from the ones that are "making room"

Okay, I DON'T have a problem with breeders who are 'making room'! Unless you are just a hobby breeder, with a very small number of dogs, there WILL come a time when one of your brood bitches is too old to breed anymore, and you need to send her to a good home, where she can get the love and attention she deserves.

That's far better than being shoved to the back of the kennel and ignored!

Let's face it: dogs ARE a business for some people!  Not all breeders have room to make retired bitches into pampered housepets.

SHELLY!  REALLY?

You mean your pups are registered with the NPR??

Okay, I can see where you probably had to make allowances for the Person of the Opposite Sex (POS) you lived with, in case he did something to scare the buyer off....

Sold puppies before parents' AKC reg. was complete, papers delivered later- CHECK!
Both parents, littermates not available on-site for inspection- CHECK!
Failure to present paren'ts' health records- CHECK!
Rude to a potential buyer "just cuz" I didn't like the way they looked at my precious puppies, or they showed up a day late, or they turned a car load of ill-mannered brats loose in my home, etc., etc., etc. - CHECK!

Knocked 85% off the price of a really nice puppy "just cuz" I felt the person who fell in love with it needed the puppy more than I needed the money-
Yeah--- check. But don't spread it around.

The thread is intended to HELP potential puppy-buyers.  Please feel free to add caveats or considerations not mentioned not mentioned on the original thread.

But, it would be more helpful to the newbies not to confuse the issue with the "variations" that an experienced buyer or breeder may engage in.  For example, some experienced persons have purchased puppies without any type of contract at all--that is NOT advisable for anyone to do, generally speaking, so it would only be confusing to reference  or discuss it on this thread.   Some breeders may be rude "just because" they prefer not to sell to a potential buyer and it is easier to be nasty than to be honest sometimes.   But, that may not help newbies all that much.
