Vikram,
A 9 inch gash huh?
Did you raise the 1 year old GSD with the Lab from the time it was a puppy?
Just wondering how things got to this point.
You have been doing what kind of training with him?
How do you train obedience?
I don't usually take part in your posts but I am curious, you aren't tugging on everyones leg are you?
Moons.

Get rid of the dog....you do not have the ability nor the skills to handle the dog you have. This dog could probably go to law enforcement program and excell. Then try LISTENING to what some of the more knowledgable board members have told you. You wanted this hard Western dog, Tiekerhook, blah blah blah, Everybody is not capable of handling a hard dog and it is doubtful at this age, if he has already given you a nine inch gash, and he STILL isn't submissive to you, then you need to get rid of him! period.! I do problem solving training for clients with working dogs, I have seen your situation many times. If it is early in the game, if the owner is willing to do everything you tell them without qestion, if the dog isn't too dominant, THEN often we are successful. From your description and your posts of knowing so much, I would get another dog that you could develop the correct foundation. You may not want to hear this, but mark my words this will get worse because he is too much dog for you. The irony of this situation is what you need is a good Czech dog that can be everybit as tough but seldom has handler aggressive issues, and the degree of dominance. Good Luck
ps I am not trying to hurt you, I am doing what you should have done with this dog early in the game, that is be clear, straight, and blunt, in terms of choices that will end on good note.

People always say they want a real dog till they have one. I think I can handle any dog thrown my way, but I will not after all this year own a dog that has handler agression, or is so dominant that I would not enjoy working him. You need to know what you want and more important what you really need. Most people don't need or want real dogs. They are not toys or pets, they are man eaters with 4 legs, these dogs are designed to be man stoppers, unless you military man you don't need that kind of dog, not even law enforcment has most of the time need for that kind of dog. Gustav is right you need nice hard czech dog, they are tough like a nail, awesome to work with (it's really hard to find bad czech dog) and they are as real as most of us need. It's time to recognize your failure and move on. You need to make it right by the dog, and put your ego aside. No good will come out if you choose not to do it.

Dogs are like kids they will get away with what you allow!!!!!!!!!!!
I have several dogs that coexhist together with NO problems why because I WILL NOT
TOLERATE AGGRESION!!!!!! Most of my dogs are large breed Doberman Boxer 2 GSD's PIT Bull
1 toy manchester( wich I will say is the trouble maker Nepolian complex ) and 1 english bulldog
everyone coexhist beautifully not to say we never have up set but for the most part everything rolls.
I dont necessarily believe OB is the answer though it cant hurt this is dog psychcolgy and hiearchy
more you must take back ALpha position emediatly If one of my dogs put a 9 inch gash in my stomach
I would have went to hand to hand combate with that dog and I assure you I WOULD HAVE ONE!!!
I would be writing a thread one what is the best head stone to pick out for my late friend
