I posted this in another thread too, but the Olderhill dogs have a good reputation in South Africa, amongst the "pet" market.  The two women who run the kennel are very selective about their buyers, and they market their dogs as "superior" by charging approximately 10 x more than the normal "pet" price for pet-quality dogs.

We have a number of registration bodies here in South Africa, and they are all at war with each other.

We have KUSA (Kennel Union) which is affiliated with the FCI, and caters to all breeds.  They run a closed stud book for each breed, and have few breeding restrictions, and no minimum requirements in terms of titles or testing for breeding.

Then we have the German Sheperd Dog Federation, which is also runs a closed breed book, but follows the SV breeding regulations quite closely (although not 100%).

On top of that we have a number of smaller registration bodies, which are not much more than "pedigree generators" for those who want a pedigree with a logo at the top to make their dogs appear "important" or "registered".

All Olderhill dogs come from a pair of dogs imported from the UK, and some are very closely line bred.  I have asked them for pedigree information, but received no answer.  From pedigrees of dogs I have had contact with, I have managed to piece together some information on their dogs.  This pedigree, for example www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/615406.html
has line breeding of 3-3, 3-3, 2-2!

I cannot trace any further on the two dogs they imported, from "Oldehill" kennels in the UK, but I could not find any pedigree information to back this up.

A common acquaintance mentioned some time back that they currently have far too many dogs to look after them all properly (+70 dogs!) and are buying or rescuing more continuously.

Anyone who can help with the Olderhill (Sussex police?) pedigrees?
