As far as dogs raised in the house, I buy from breeders who raise pups in a kennel. I don't want a pup who has been inhibited by someone else's idea of good house manners. Probably why my philosophy with pups once i bring them home is if they are going to be in the house get everything the hell out of their reach, or suffer the consequences. For me with young dogs/pups most training should be on the field, not in the house, so I like to use kennels, easier on the dogs and my house! I bring them in the house a lot, but I also give them down time in their kennel too.

I agree, All my dogs get rotated thru the house and kennel they learn boundries and parameters are set. I do live with my dogs and my litters are all born and raised in the house then are moved to the kennel. I do agree with most of michaels post (when he isn,t snapping my head off) although the extent he goes to are only with the pups from the litter I keep for my self.

agree with Sueincc...dogs need to start in a kennel and a safe abode..I am not getting into all this why , she said it all..I ageee with her...my dogs are not trained in a house and I would be destitute if I allowed these high drive tails to have to be disciplined to keep their tails between their legs at all times in my highly decorated home.
A lot of other reasons go with it...not gonna bother to explain....I am sure someone else will....All my dog go with me in my truck at one time or another..and are in m y house or home at the appropriate time ....I also introduce all pups to my home, the tv, the stove where they see themselves and bark the fool head off for 15 mins...and I introduce them into the public for the very same reason.
Thanks Sue
Yellowrose
I would never whelp a litter in my home....I spent the money for air conditioned nursery with cages adn whelping boxes with proper lights, heat and proper music, lights and plenty of what they need.
There are hours of individual responsiblity that goes with breeding and it is not HOUSekeEPING>>>>>>it is much more...much more...physcology of the dog being in safe abode..then whelping and you have to do many things like the massage theraphy.....physco tummy rubs and feet from 1 day old to 3 weeks old....give the pup a better chance to enter into the stress of people , shots, siblings, rag work, commands and living with humans....there are steps you as a breeder have to learn........not housewarming.....either.....
Again I said I was not gonna explain but I cannot keep quiet....there is more to breeding and raising the pups from the conception to the day they go to a new owner....
..
..I am going to try to get to Sitasmom to help her learn these things but maybe her hubby will build a doggie nursery out back for her....hint hint.....hint....air conditioners are on sale now...hint hint hint.........YR
