You do realize that no matter what color eyes ANY dog has......."sable" puppies can only be produced from at least one parent actually being sable.....?!

I know all i was trying to say is that my light eyes dogs tend to have a white dog in their backgound. I tend to ramble with my typing.LOL Nash is the grandfather to the pup the person asked about. So I was just saying the he masked sable.

That seems to make sence about the "white" genetics and lighter eyes.......I'm limited on knowledge on "white" genetics though.....have no personal experience with that specific color.

A white dog can look white, but actually be agouti. See the wold coat in the photo on this site.

SOME white German Shepherds have light colored eyes... but if the person planning and carrying out the breedings makes eye color a priority it doesn't have to be.... This is a shot of my rescue WGSD who definately doesn't have light eyes.

One problem with White coloring is that it's impossible to tell if the COLOR that it's masking is a faded color or a washed out color or even a dilute. I've found that some produced very DARK RICH colors when bred to standard colored dogs and others did not. You just can't see thru the masking to tell what's beneath it.
As far as the OP's pup... I agree, it's in that puppy coat stage... wait 2 months and you may be surprised how dark she becomes once her adult color starts to show up.
