You should really look in to this more.
As I stated, dogs are not humans.
Dogs only store a very limited amount of carbs for quick release in to the blood stream if needed. Feeding excess carbs will not supply a dog with "instant energy".
After a dog's protein requirements are met they metabolize excess protein in to energy.
More importantly, if a dog is in need of quicker metabolized energy it should be a fed a diet that is higher in quality fat.
Dog's metabolize fat the same way humans metabolize carbohydrates and it is the quickest available source of energy to a dog, even before protein and certainly before carbohydrates.
