I'm in southern Indiana along the Ohio river, surrounded by the Hoosier National Forest.
In between Evansville In. and Louisville Ky.
The Angel Mounds site is to the west and there are several old encampments around here locally. The area was a popular place for native people because of the rivers and the flint found here.
Indiana has a lot of native history, mostly sad.
John Mankiller was an old man when I was still very young, I'm sure he passed on many years ago. I don't think I ever knew what tribe he was from. What I will never forget was watching he and his two sons take squirrels from trees using blunt tipped arrows he had made himself and the bows were wooden. That was magic stuff for me at that age.
Its sad the two cultures could not have mixed equally instead of one dominating the other. Much was wasted, much has been lost.
Yes I would enjoy seeing this performance and would be honored to meet Quentin I'm sure, if they are ever in the area, anything within a days drive. Let me know if you hear anything.
And you never know when paths will cross, now a days all it takes is a little free time and some gas money. There is much I'd like to do before I get too old to do it.
I've been on the road all day today so I'll catch you later,
