Can you try to post the photos again for this "two line" "plow line" method you're describing? I couldn't see any of the photos in the thread. Either that or just email me them separately. I'd like to see what you're talking about.

I sent you a pm, SchHBabe

Langhaar you can take your nasty attitude and shove it where the sun don't shine. After the shit I was put through on this board over the last week you have just tipped the scales for me, congratulations. The last thing in the world I have to do is justify myself to the likes of you. I'm so sick and tired of it, I'm truly and finally done here.

Forcing someone to do something, means it is something they do not want to do.has nothing to do with tweeking.or fixing problems.when you say you force track a dog that means that dog does not want to track, and if a dog does not want to track then there are other problems.and most of these problems are caused by the trainer and handler to begin with.the only one should be forced here is the stupid trainer or handler to learn to train a dog properly ,which means you need to be able to read a dog properly and also need to know the dogs drives ,strengths and weakness.by the way correcting a dog and forcing a dog are two very different things.also if you have to fore a dog to track there is a bigger problem here, you do not have the right dog.JUST REMEMBER MOST OF THESE SO CALLED BIG TRAINER TRAINING AND COPMETING WITH DOGS ARE DOING IT FOR THERE OWN BIG EGGO,SO THEREFORE A DOG SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED TO THE POINT WHERE HE HAS TO BE FORCED.HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANYONE BEING FORCED TO DO SOMETHING IT IS NOT A PRETTY THING AN THE REASON IS CAUSE IT IS WRONG. HAVE A NICE ONE.

"Have you ever seen somebody make somebody do something?".....Yes!!!! My mother making me eat my peas and guess what, "I love peas today" !......Anyway, forced tracking and forced retreives are just a means to get to a point where they get "Good Such" for the rest of their lives....Oh Well, I guess that there is vanilla and choclate!!

I didn't know it was called the plow method, but I was taught to use two lines or leashes attached to one or two collars with each line passed under a front leg to better control an over-eager tracker. I call this over-eagerness "high speed pursuit" of a track. Dogs who do this can miss a turn or an article. The two lines give a handler better control of the dog without suppressing the dog's willingness to track.
I also have a lazy dog who sits sloppy. I make her sit straight. Forced? I suppose, but I like straight sits and she likes pleasing me so it all works out.
