Come on nowJim ,they kill each other over name brand sneakers anymore

Who are "they", that you are referring to?  Sorry, but I haven't been to a homicide over sneakers yet.  I've handled a few robberies of expensive sneakers.  But can't recall one where someone died.

Most drug crimes are due to Ice, cocaine and heroine . If weed was legal you would not  see that happen anymore often then you would see it over a pair of Air Jordans or a mp3player

I don't doubt your knowledge of the drug culture in upstate NY.  However, where I am Meth is not a huge problem.   We have some meth but not a lot.  We have a big problem with crack, marijuana and heroin.  Heroin is becoming increasing popular along with prescription drugs and ecstacy.  Many of the same people I get with crack have weed as well.  It is common here to smoke crack in a blunt with marijuana.  It's called a ting ting or woobang.   Here 80% of the time crack and weed go together.  I'm not going to argue wether or not weed should be legal.  Currently, it's not legal and the common misconception is that it's not a dangerous drug.  Dope dealers have a dangerous job, regardless of the drugs they are selling.  They worry about getting robbed, rival drug dealers and the police.  So,  they often carry guns.   It's a fact; in this country drugs and guns go hand in hand it doesn't matter what the drug is.

If it was legalized tomorrow I'd be fine with it.

By the way, Two Moons as you probably know the weed you smoked 20 yrs ago is far different than the weed you can get today.  Today's marijuana is far more potent then the weed of the past.  A blunt of exotic weed today will get you high all day.   Trust me it's not the innocent little drug most potheads make it out to be anymore.

Just my experience.....FWIW

Jim

Grrr?

I would not want your job Jim.

Drugs, alcohol, guns, thats not whats killing us.    Some have forgotten how to live, and our species is sick.

People have no hope of a future, some don't care, others are so desparate, theres so much poverty, illiteracy, name your poison.

The reason I would not want your jobs is because I know you risk your life everyday, its appreciated.

MJ,

I remember time standing still, and my face melting....   And driving home.

Something I don't do if I drink.

We didn't say WOW, but I remember Far out....  which is about the same... Forgetting how to breath?  priceless.....lol

Hey your still here aren't you.... The body works without the mind....LOL

FUBAR.....

Well... I don't partake, but I wish more of the world did.  As a very close criminal lawyer friend told me recently - he'd be out of business if there were no booze, and if pot were legal, LOL!  Alcohol causes so much devastation, and pot - well...  seems to mellow folks out.

Legalize it - regulated it, get some tax dollars from it - poof!  bye bye organized crime, hello tax base.  LOL!

Happy belated 420 , LOL!

How does your criminal lawyer friend sleep at night?  I guess pretty well on his satin sheets.  You have no idea about the effects of drugs on people.  Criminal lawyers are lower than back yard GSD breeders.

Alcohol causes so much devastation and it's legal.  Great lets legalize weed, then crack, then meth, heroin.....etc.

You need to get a clue.

One of the highlights of my job is testifying in court and making criminal defense atty's look as stupid as most really are. I am very well versed in search and seizure, criminal, traffic law, Miranda and the Fourth Amendment.  I often prepare for court far better than most defense atty's who could really care less about their clients.  I'm sure I put much more effort into putting the scumbag dope dealers in jail then their atty's do to defend them.  I thoroughly prepare my cases before court and can't remember the last case I lost;  it's been years.  So, I'm not impressed with your criminal lawyer friend.  He's just a typical lowlife criminal lawyer making a living off ohers hardship.

Jim, Thank you for all you do to keep us safe. There are those of us that do appreciate it.

Now why in heck would a stupid off topic like this show up.  Oh wait, that's right. Real dog related topics are boring around here anymore.

Curious minds want to know animules.

You looked, and you posted, nuf said.

Jim,

Yeah them lawyers got it made, job security....LOL.

Pot was almost made legal until Ronnie and Nancy came along.   Remember the days of prohibition that went well.

I know the effects of drugs and alcohol on people very well.   Legal and illegal, don't think much of the legal drugs or the drug companies either.

Pot is a weed, not the devil, coca is a tree not crack, the poppy is a flower, not heroin.  These things have always been here, many of our medicines are based on these and many other plants, mans the one who turns them into poison and uses them for profit.

Alcohol will always be more dangerous because it is legal, and a billion dollar industry.  There are no cutbacks or layoffs in the industry, they are forging right along as always.   i know first hand what alcohol does to lives, families.    But its legal.

I am personally addicted to Nicotine, can't seem to kick it.   Its legal and very profitable, I'm paying for everyone elses health care with the new tax they just added to tobacco.

Many things can be abused and often are..... look at the crap people have been giving to their kids, modern miracles or legal poison.

Crack and Meth are in a league all their own,  real poison.     Heroin, Cocaine, these are all man made poisons.

Man would abuse saw dust if it could be made profitable.

It always goes back to man and money and the human condition.

There will always be crime.....thats a given.   There will always be lawyers good and bad.   Thats the system we chose.

And from now on I will breed all my dogs in the front yard.

Moons.

Why don’t we just do away with courts? Or better yet let’s just get rid of the laws and let the cops deal out a little “street justice”.

It’s really sad that so many people have given their lives to bring liberty and the rule of law to foreign shores and we still have this kind of totalitarian mindset festering in our own country.

Guess you have some good lawyers on your side Christopher.  You missed my point totally.   Another of your condensing comments from Mr. Perfect, who knows everything.

My boyfriend is in the same profession as Jim (Slamdunc). I let him read this thread and this is what he had to say.

Marijuana is the number one cause of violence in the county he works in. Just about every single home invasion they have had in the last several years is for a pot robbery. Most of these are "medical marijuana gardens" that later turn out to be for profit. He has found people with perscriptions for marijuana for "hang nail" from several years ago. Guess what that "perscription" is good for the rest of their lives and they never have to see a Dr again. He runs into people all the time with these type of percriptions that openly admit that their ailment is over with but still have the perscription and use it just to get high.  Most large scale collective medical marijuana grows are usually fronts for commercial grows. Marijuana is destroying his county.

Almost half of their DUIs are Marijuana related. Most of the DUI fatalities are also Marijuana related. He has been to homicides that are directly related to Marijuana just like Jim has.

Mexican Gangs are now growing it in his county. Their Illegal gardeners will camp up in the hills for months and destroy the local enviroment creating damage to the creeks, mountains, and ecosystem. They will also shoot at hikers. Last year during the lighting complex fires firefighters were getting shot at by these marijuana growers.

So much for a "peaceful" drug.
