I'm no breeder here, but if it were me, at this stage of the game, I wouldn't worry about restricted the food either. Feed her what she'll eat. I know I did at the end of my pregnancy. LOL At that point, I really just didn't care! Though didn't gain a whole lot either, so towards the end, I figured what the heck!
My older female had a litter (owed the breeder a litter) and I ended up whelping the litter at home here. She was HUGE, normally 60 pounds, went up to 82, had 11 puppies. I didn't restrict her food much, but she obviously could have eaten more food and gained more. When she was done whelping, it was ALL puppy, as she was actually kinda thin when done.

She is now refusing to eat food that has anything in or on it....she only wants dry kibble or to eat off of my plate. I don't normally feed off of my plate so this is a new thing for her to want to. Any suggestions?
We brought in the whelping box this morning and she's made herself right at home....has about 2 1/2 weeks to go. I am sooo excited but nervous....even more so than with my other female over 3 yrs ago.

Add calcium and vitamin E (to help with uterine inertia for last pups).
Your job obviously happens later after the pups are out and growing.
Good luck.
