I guess we will have to see if SV Judge Hans Joachim Dux has the BALLS to place Boy as USA Judge Johannes Grewe.

Congratulations on the V/KK1. As most of you know, there is a special place in my heart for good-looking working line dogs. I've been showing them in events at all levels for YEARS, including the BSZS.

Nice Work! Congratulations!
I was wondering about the video. The description reads '23 month old son' How does a dog under the age of 2 obtain a breed survey? Is there a 'buffer' somewhere in age or was this a typo / old description? I thought the dogs had to be a least 2 years of age to breed survey since they cannot obtain their adult conformation rating at any earlier of age.
Thanks for the info

Per USA rules the dog has to turn 2 within the year of the breed survey. So, as long as they turn 2 on or before 12/31/09 they can attend any USA breed survey this year, provided they have a minimun SchH1, certified hips and elbows and a show rating from the 12-18 month or 18-24 month class if not yet in the working class. My dog met all these requirements.

I was not aware of this. Thanks for the explanation. A dog can "V" in the working class if they are under 2 years of age though correct? As long as they had the title and were able to show in that class?
Is this true for an SV breed survey as well? or only USA breed survey?
I'm new to this stuff :)
Thanks

To my knowledge this only applies to a USA breed survey. As far as going "V" before 2 years of age, I do not believe this is possible. I think that only dogs in the working class can be V rated. Although my dog is titiled, he was not yet 2 years old so therefore he showed in the 18-24 month old class, so the highest rating he could get was SG. Although the judge did state during the critique on Saturday that were he old enough to have showed in the working class he would have awarded him the rating of "V".

Oh, that is interesting. That's too bad they did not let him show in the working class since he was already titled.
I think normally I just haven't seen any dogs younger than 2 in the working class and assumed it was because of the lack of titles, but still I had no idea it was based on age as well.
Thanks for all the info!

Deejay's Owner,
You should maybe look in to Hans-Joachim Dux's background a little more. He is very pro-working lines. Probably one of the better judges to show under if you have a working line dog. His start in GSD's was with working lines.
He did a breed survey in Illinois on April 4th, 2009. He couldn't stop going on and on about what a great dog Lusy Naspo is. She is an all black Slovak female. Dux repeatedly said she was the best dog in the breed survey which included many dogs from one of the top show line kennels here in the U.S.
