I used the panda mutation as an EXAMPLE  that mutations do happen. There is no way that you cannot tell me that you can breed blk/tan parents untill the end of time that a mutation somewhere along the line won't happen. Odds are just the opposite that it will happen.  Breeding is NOT AN EXACT SCIENCE, NEVER HAS NEVER WILL. YOU ARE WRONG!  If this was the case we could breed out hip dysplasia 100% (again another example). This is what I hate about this site. You have a a couple of so called "experts" telling everybody else what they are doing wrong. And to answer the question one more time. Yes the odds are that the one of the parents is a patterned sable. Unless a dna test is performed I can not nor any COMPETENT person know  for 100%. Oh wait let's check the chart! Give me a break, the chart is a great tool but is not 100% accurate,maybe 99.9% but not 100%. They even tell you that becuase there is no way you can chart all the variables i.e mutations,dormant genes. Just because something has not happened does not mean it cannot happen. That is just stupid. Unlike others I have an open mind.

And you need not be an "expert." I belive simple Mendelian genetics is taught in middle school.

This will be my last post. Yes those LINES are in my dogs in my kennels. Wonderful aren't they?  These are LINKS showing the VARIOUS LINES in my dogs. I have pedigrees to back all the lines up and am in the process of transferring them to the pedigree database for each dog (as this takes a lot of time and effort). It can't happen , one of the parents has to be a sable Molly is right.. grgtwnbaxly mybe your the one with the close mind you would think for someone that has been breeding for thrity years should know this.By the looks of your website and dogs it look like you just started breeding dogs and really needs some help at it.
