Thanks for the link Two Moons. I am going to have to take a look at it tomorrow . This is going to take more time then I thought . I would like the pup for pet and companionship. I would also hope in a pinch it would have the gumption to not tuck tail and run in the opposite direction. No show rings for me or the dog . Health and a suitable temperament is what I am looking for in my new dog . Steve1 I live in the US . I would consider another rescue , however with the older dog being my main concern I'm leaning towards a pup . I feel it would be best for myself and my older dog at this time . Ubber Land I think my old rescue must be a mix of working lines and show lines . She is a blanket back , square in structure with a straight back . Her color is reddish yellow and black. The black on her blanket is almost jet black with no fading in color any where on her . She has no hind angulation at all .  I think her tail is a little short , that's just my opinion . I also think she is  "overweight " . That's our vets opinion . Gotta go to work . Thanks again for the help .       Jimmy

Another good link to help you see the difference between the types of GSDs is the following:
http://www.shawlein.com/The_Standard/Index_page/Index_Page.htm
Linda Shaw, who owns the site and drew the illustrations and wrote the text, is a GSD lover and breeder. Her site practically takes you by the hand and leads you through the standard and the variations upon it, including showlines and working lines. If the link doesn't work, cut and paste it.

Nobody jumped on Jimmy that I could see. The OP is either lurking or has fled from a driveby post. Lurking, I hope, since s/he will learn much from this site.

Howdy carson, nice to meet you! And I agree your spelling is atrocious, LOL!!!  What kind of beer do you drink? And hunting wild  ginsing.... isn't that an illegal endeavor? Post a picture of your dogs, why don't you?

by happyday on 19 March 2009 - 13:03

BeeTree - how do you post pictures to the site - I have tried - but I don't seem to be doing it right...Please advise...

 happyday,

FOR STARTERS: THIS WILL ALLOW YOU to make a permanent "folder", that you can download your pictures to in the future, you do not have to set up a folder for individual pictures. And you can download pictures without putting them in a folder, too. But, I like things neat and tidy!

Look up at the editor click on the "MOUNTAIN" icon.

To the right of the "URL" box, click on the Browse Server button.

On the bottom, click "Create NEW FOLDER"

Then click on the button to the right that says, CHOOSE FILE.

When that is done, look to the far right and click the UPLOAD button.

Now close out the folder window, click the MOUNTAIN icon above,

click on the BROWSE SERVER button,

CLICK your FOLDER to open, CLICK on your downloaded image, and up should pop the
IMAGES PROPERTIES window, with your picture displayed. If the size is okay, click the OK button.

Usually you don't want anything bigger than 350-450 in the Height box. It is a courtesy to keep the photo
sizes smaller so as not to add to the load up times for everyone.

Hope this helps!

The editor is that bar just above the writing block. Look for the smiley face, and move three to the left. Start there! And just follow step by step. It is easier than it reads! LOL

Short cut without folder with pictures already uploaded:

CLICK on MOUNTAIN ICON above, to the left of the smiley. That will bring up Image Properties window.
CLICK on BROWSE SERVER,
Select the file you downloaded, and
at the IMage Properties Tab,
CLICK OK,

Hope that's better, LOL
