Not saying it changes the ingredient list but I am saying that many dogs do great on it.  And that happens to be true.

And I haven't gotten cancer from smoking, either.
That happens to be true.

To each their own, I just want francis to get both sides of the picture.

You might try yogurt in his diet too, or canned fish for a nice protein/fat/calcium blend.  I've had good luck with Iams Healthy Puppy and with Innova for growing sound pups -- the latter if money is no object.  Recently learned NOT Eukanuba for shepherd pups.  Also, sprinting up a slope, say after a ball, tends to tighten up a back end, though he doesn't look bad to me.  Not too much of a slope for a young fella, but you can find a tougher hill as he gets older.  If nothing else, it'll tire him out and a tired pup is a good pup.

I'm actually more concerned about his topline in that shot than about his hind legs.  Does he flatten out in a natural stand, or does he still have that much curve?

Sorry Luvmidog you are incorrect regarding the calcium it is only temporary.  The puppy has been ill and he needs extra for a time to help with the pasterns etc.  I have found that mostly male puppies on occasion will need a bit of extra calcium especially during grow spurts maybe because their bone is heavier.   If you can get some "ester C" or a plain vitamin c  tablet that will help also.  BUT start the vit c at a low dose as too much can give the puppy runny poo.  Can you try to get a better quality biscuit if you cannot feed raw diet??  There are plenty of good diets on the diet you just find one that you can access and what suits your puppy.  Yes you feed the necks etc raw with the skin on just a couple to start to see how he goes.  My babies have half a chicken frame a couple of times per week at least.

Can you take your puppy swimming at all??  Start very short and build up but the sand work is excellent for strengthening the rear end.  His hocks are long but if you do the sand work they will improve.

The line from the shoulders to the rump, according to the German and AKC standards, should be "straight."  How that's interpreted seems to vary from judge to judge, but that line from shoulders to pelvis on your dog looks pretty arched, and that can lead you to back problems, especially if he's getting whipped through the air by the teeth.  In this breed, which sometimes has TOO high a pain threshold, you don't find out there's something wrong until the beast can't walk.

I'll second that swimming might be good for this dog -- low impact.

Nope.  I spent all of 2007-2008 in a place with a lot of Filipinos though, so I picked some up.
What I didn't pick up, I have the English/Tagalog dictionary for.
