Being clean and eating organic food is far from what makes a parent. What lesson will these children learn about respecting life when these dogs get the boot? I have no doubt that they are loved, but it continues to sadden and disgust me when parents inadvertently teach their children that animals are expendable, thus contributing to our "disposable" society.

These dogs will be big enough to knock these small children down very, very soon. And GSDS?!! WHY?! Hell, any dog will bark at the door if the want a bit of security. What happens when this passel of children start have friends over and are met with two very protective, territorial dogs? (if they even last that long)

seen the preview, also seen where they were both pissin on the floor, the saddest thing is you think that the breeder is money hungry to sell them two pups at the same time, plus knowing they have 8 kids, but you know they did it because of the television fame. i wonder how many people will watch it and say "i want a puppy from that breeder, because they got their puppy from them!"

i know one thing...when they walked away, the breeder had to be laughing and saying "suckers" under her breath...

I wonder if the family knows how much it costs to feed and vet a GSD, never mine a untrained dog with a daycare running around, sounds like a dog being put to sleep in the making. I wish they would pick another breed or at least get educated. It sounds like they may want outside babysitter ,which will make 2 dogs out of control and what ever happens will be the dogs fault. Not a good thing, makes me wonder how they see property.

I wonder if we will see the dog whisperer on the show.  Or the English lady who is training dogs here now on tv.  Im guessing to save face they will say one of the kids was severely allergic to the dogs so they had to give them away.  That way they don't look so bad.  The kids are old enough to know better and basically well behaved.  Hopefully they will spend a lot of time with the pups who knows it might work.  Jon doesnt work he could train the dogs with the kids if someone shows him how to.  Maybe they researched it.  Or maybe growing up they had dogs and they know about them.  Who am i kidding its going to be a disaster!

All I can say is that I hope they did some kind of research before they got the dogs.  As far as the situation with them being on TV, and their financial problems, I imagine the problems aren't as bad as they seem.  They're likely making a fortune off the show, and as far as the breeder, the TV network is probably paying for the pups, too.  Organic food is indeed expensive, and I doubt it's being provided free of charge to them.  I certainly can't afford to buy organic, although I do grow and preserve as much as I possibly can.

They've had a lot of donations, including plastic surgery for Kate, following the birth of the six babies.  Purina or another dog food company is probably donating the food, at least for a while.  Vet care is outrageously expensive, and vets don't usually donate their time.

As for training, I'd bet anything that there will be a plea for help at some point, either from Cesar Millan or from the British woman, because of crazy behaviour problems.  In a way, I hope it's Cesar, because I have a hard time with the way VIctoria does her thing, with all the treats and bribery.  I don't think the woman has ever corrected a bad behavior, per se.  She uses food rewards to distract the dog from whatever it's doing wrong.  I prefer to correct the bad behavior, then offer praise or something else as a reward.

Kate may be kind of a neat freak, and somewhat bitchy, but to keep up after a husband and eight kids like she does, she has to be.  You miss a day of work in your house when you've got that many, and the place looks like a bomb went off, never to be neat again.

Okay I just watched the show and my heart hurts for those poor GSD pups.

First off,  John and Kate blithely admit they know NOTHING about dogs, and didn't bother to find anything out about GSDs before they got these two pups "oh, hahahah, we didn't know anything about kids before either").  Oh, sorry, Kate mentions at one point she did glance in one of "those dog books" in a pet store.  When they got to the breeder and Kate picked up a pup and was holding it up and looking at it, the pup (approx 8 weeks old) tried to lick her and Kate RECOILED in utter HORROR.  Throughout the entire show Kate did nothing but complain about everything under the sun as it relates to the puppies.  She stated on multiple occaisions she would be happier without them.  You can see she is utterly mistified as to why, and completely disdainful of,  anyone who would want to have a dog.

Can't believe I'm posting on this thread. I saw the show at my friends tonight... pups look half decent all things considering.  Breeder apparently is giving the proceeds from the litter to a kid with cancer or something. Can you say free advertising! He is supposedly ex cop or something. Seemed like a decent setup. I liked his chainlink:)
I can't imagine having them grow up in that home. Dumbasses put the little ex-pen on the carpet and expect them not to take a dump on the carpet.
Hopefully they will get a good trainer... good gig for ever that is.

Its the first time I watched the show. Right after that was a older show when they change carpets in the house. She wanted the guy to re-arrange her bedroom furniture at 11:00 at night after moving crap all day to change carpets. She is a guaranteed bitch. Maybe my choice in words are lousy, but for sure most would agree.
Kids seem nice, except for the one older girl. Crying for every little thing.
The kid who wanted to name the pup Scott was funny as hell.

And whoever said they are hard up financially. Ya freaking right... I have seen how much money is put into low budget shows for a little dog scene. Thinking this show is somewhat successful as I believe its been around for a few years. They're doing just fine.

8 kids was more or less an accident. The women spitting out 18 kids on the other show needs to be freaking spayed or sold to a puppy mill:)!!!

But for sure I think all this realty TV while entertaining is setup. Makes for good cheesy entertainment.

Sue, the women may very well fall in love with them in the future. I have seen that before, person who hates dogs the most ends up with them sleeping on their bed.
