ShelleyR

The Peterborough Club will always be near and dear to this old bat's heart. What a great bunch of sportsfriends! Not one of them even laughed when T cracked a molar, failed to "out" (!?!)  and earned a nice big goose-egg in C. I tried to get them to adopt me on the spot when that nice young man handed me a cold beer on my way back to the trailer and dear Hans graciously councelled me on selection of a situation-appropriate excuse for said zero. Talk about sportsmanship. You guys are the BEST!

Speaking of sportsmanship... Just because I was sitting on the roof of the van when the tracks were being laid doesn't mean I was watching. I was just working on my tan.
You have my word on it.

Sincerely yours,
Joe Hundai

Three cheers for Steve!! Shelley, You can take both computers to BestBuy and they will transfer everything from one to the other. It takes an amazingly small amount of time and money.

As I said, my old hard disc is seriously fried. If anybody can get anything off of it the guy who gave my laptop the last rites would be the one. LOL He's actually a top corp security IT pro, doesn't usually repair computers for the public, charges me so little for help because I used to do their advertising for them (back when I had a job Ha ha ha)  that its embarrassing. ($2. hr? LOL) I will stop by Monday and pray the computer tech guru, AKA Ed, can salvage some of the stuff of the old HD.
Boy, do I wish I had backed up that stuff.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Very nice Steve1.

Shelley, some of the remote hard drive storage units are very reasonable now.  For really big hard drives too.  I've goofed a couple times and lost some stuff.   I did manage to recover a lot last time as I did have a complete hard drive back up that was a couple months old.   It is worth a try to see if a computer place can recover anything.  Then go get yourself a remote hard drive, about the cost of a bag or two of dog food.

Very nice indeed Steve, you did a very good deed. I'm sure the "Big Man" upstairs is smiling down on you! Glad to see you back up and running Shelley!(just don't try no running on the ice, believe me I know, took a couple pretty good flops myself)

Congratulations on the new computer, Shelley. And didn't we all know that Steve1 was a very nice guy. What a great thing to do!

We're having a cold front come through the Rockies right now, and another one on Monday I guess. So it'll be headed for parts east soon. The mountains are getting beaucoup snow - wish my knees were still good enough to ski. Of course the rest of me would have to be younger too.
