Ok guys, how about unsulfured molasses?
What's the uses for dogs or reason behind using it in satin balls for dogs? It deffinatly puts the weight on quick and the dogs like the taste but I'm still wondering what the hell it is and what for?

LOL! ROF! I think the Karo Dark blue made my face turn green back then. Def. in food and not on it. Also, I think Ms. YR is spot on w/ the White Karo for this dog recipe. She also made me hungry for lunch:)
I do love sweet potato pie, and that is regional. You go above the Mason Dixon Line and all you find is Pumpkin Pie. I'm sure your dad and I would get along swimmingly. Christmas isn't Christmas without a country ham. That's a once a year thing and you soak it overnight so it won't be too salty, but not too much to make it bland. Eating canned ham over Thanksgiving or Christmas is a sin.

Karo is the only thing I would use on my pancakes as a kid. Now, I don't eat them at all (diabetes). It is definaly what I was feed as an infant before canned formulas.
As far as too much sugar, dogs milk is supposedly fattier and sweeter than human breast milk, never tried either myself.
I know it is also a must have in the whelping room incase a pup has a low blood sugar episode. It can help bring a pup back from the brink.

Love me some sweet potato pie!! But, I was born and raised in Ohio--just above the Mason-dixon line. NEVER cared for pumpkin. It just tastes like watered-down sweet 'tater pie to me. All you see is pumpkin...UNLESS, you go to the Safeway in the "ethnic" areas. Then, you find 'store-bought" sweet potato pie (doesn't hold a candle to home-made, though. The stuff is NOT supposed to be smooth!!), . I have not found a way to explain to pumpkin-pie eaters what they have been missing, other than to say pumpkin is bland by comparison and not as likely to fulfill your daily need for fiber.
Good exercise peeling those suckers, too!!

Sometimes the stores stock it in the "baking goods" section and not my the pancake syrup. But in any case, it's just corn syrup so regardless of the brand name you ought to be able to find some sooner or later.

Molasses is the by-product of refining sugar cane or sugar beets. Unsulphured is the finest quality, black strap is from the third boil. Very important trade commodity way back when, when Rum was king. Health benefits, many minerals to be absorbed.

The object of the karo in the milk or goat milk, water and ege yolk, not whites, is to make sure the puppy poops...lOl

I am hoping to follow the KIMBERTAL KENNEL formula for raising a large litter. I have 12 who are 9 days old now and is eating up a storm. Just 20 mins with the mother and she is all drained.
Any good idea for a formula. I heard goats milk is not good for puppies.

Goat's milk is the best...it's the closest to canine milk, if you can't get goats milk, try lamb milk. You can also buy it in milk replacer form from feed stores, if they carry it.
